    摘要: A ceramic guide for a rolling line, used for wire rod transfer in a rolling line, which has a cylindrical contour and a throughhole for wire rod transfer. The throughhole includes a tapered hole and a straight hole of constant diameter, the tapered hole being provided at the wire rod inlet side of the guide. This ceramic guide, when used in a rolling line, is less liable to cause seizure with a wire rod and has higher durability.

    摘要: Filament wear guides which are characterized by excellent resistance to abrasive filament wear. Also, the method of their fabrication. A chromium surface on a substrate is controllably oxidized or nitrided and oxidized. Such oxidation or nitriding plus oxidizing is accomplished thermally. The coatings consist of oxide alone, or oxide formed in conjunction with the nitride depending upon the treatment employed. Resulting chromium oxide or oxy-nitride surface layer is nonparticulate and substantially impervious.

    摘要: An assembly and method for deploying, retrieving, and storing a cable having a minimum bend radius onto a drum. The assembly may comprise a frame, a rotatable drum carried by the frame, a levelwind carried by the frame, and a powertrain. The levelwind may comprise a rail spanning at least the width of the drum, and a traversable carriage carried by the rail. The levelwind may also comprise a cable guide carried by the carriage, where the cable guide comprises an elongated chute having contoured walls. The contoured walls of the chute include no bends having a radius less than the minimum bend radius of the cable. The powertrain may be operatively connected to rotate the drum about the drum axis and traverse the carriage along the rail. In some examples, the contoured walls of the chute are coated with a supplmentary coating.

    摘要: A traverse yarn guide is provided for use with a winder which includes a cam, a cam groove and a guide slot. The guide comprises a metal guard plate, partially embedded in a body of synthetic material, the body having attached thereto a yarn guide of wear resistant material. The guard plate projects from the body on either side of the yarn guide to prevent yarn to body contact during yarn stringup. The body comprises at least one flange for retention of the body in a guide slot and a depression in which is inserted for pivotal movement a partially sheathed end of a shoe, made of synthetic material. The sheath is made of metal and rotationally attached to the shoe. The other end of the shoe is shaped to follow a cam groove and has a width of at most 0.457 cm.
