    摘要: A method for the manufacture of a carbon composite comprises compressing a combination comprising carbon and a binder at a temperature of about 350° C. to about 1200° C. and a pressure of about 500 psi to about 30,000 psi to form the carbon composite; wherein the binder comprises a nonmetal, metal, alloy of the metal, or a combination thereof; wherein the nonmetal is selected from the group consisting of SiO2, Si, B, B2O3, and a combination thereof; and the metal is selected from the group consisting of aluminum, copper, titanium, nickel, tungsten, chromium, iron, manganese, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium, molybdenum, tin, bismuth, antimony, lead, cadmium, selenium, and a combination thereof.

    摘要: A method of manufacturing a heat-resistant expanded graphite sheet is characterized in that after an acid-treated graphite material obtained by treating a graphite material with a strong acid is compounded with a powder of an organic phosphorus compound and is agitated and mixed uniformly to obtain a mixture, this mixture is subjected to heating treatment for 1 to 10 seconds at temperatures of 950 to 1200° C. to produce cracked gas, that gaps between graphite layers are expanded by its gas pressure to obtain expanded graphite particles having an expansion rate of 200 to 300 times, and that these expanded graphite particles are subjected to pressure molding.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an inexpensive material and method of making the material having superior heat insulation capacity for use in furnaces and other apparatus. The method comprises grinding flexible graphite foil, preferably recycled material, to a small particle size, thermally shocking the particles to expand them, mixing the expanded graphite with a thermoset phenolic resin, heating the mixture under pressure to form a solid sheet and then heat treating the solid sheet. The present invention also includes a method for making a plastic material by using a thermoplastic material mixed with re-expanded graphite. The compound of thermo plastic material and re-expanded graphite is fed into an injection molding system at a relatively high temperature and injected into a mold where a plastic material is formed. The plastic material is then removed from the mold when the material is still very hot but hard set.

    摘要: This invention relates to a method for preparing fine graphite particles which can be used as a highly functional graphite material in wide applications. According to this method, foliated fine graphite particles having a high aspect ratio and hence well-developed anisotropy can be prepared, without formation of secondary particles, by dispersing expanded graphite particles into a liquid and then exposing them to ultrasonic waves. Articles molded of the resulting foliated fine graphite particles exhibit high electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity.
