摘要: There is provided a top-firing hot blast stove capable of enhancing combustion efficiency in burner system, supplying high-temperature combustion gas to an entire checker chamber, and suppressing damage on a refractory material on an inner wall of a burner duct.A top-firing hot blast stove 10 has a burner system including: a burner 1 for passing fuel gas or combustion air to each of three or more pipe lines in a multiple pipe line structure; and a burner duct 2. A core pipe line 1b and a central pipe line 1c include a swirling flow generating means provided for generating a swirling flow of the fuel gas or the combustion air, while an outermost pipe line 1d carries a linear flow of the fuel gas or the combustion air, so that combustion gas HG including a linear component HG″ and a swirling component HG′ is generated in the burner duct 2. The combustion gas HG is supplied to a combustion chamber 3 from at least one or more of the burner systems in an inflow direction which does not pass through a center position of the combustion chamber 3.

摘要: This invention relates to a process for obtaining metal values, typically base metals, platinum or gold from a feed material. In a first step of the process of the invention, feed material containing metal values is ground to a particle size d90 of 100 microns or less to form an ultra fine pulp. In a second step of the process of the invention, the ultra fine ground pulp from the first step is oxygenated by pumping it in multiple passes through an in-line high shear static oxygenation device (30), while re-circulating it on a tank (28) or any other vessel. The process of the invention results in a significant reduction in the required leach time, improved recoveries, reduced cyanide consumptions, a steadier gold tail, as well as reduced capital and operational expenditure.

摘要: A process for removal of metal ions from soil and methods for effecting such removal are described. The process is based on the growth of crop and crop-related members of the plant family Brassicaceae in metal-containing soils. These particular plants will absorb metals into their roots making them not leachable from the soils or will absorb the metal into their roots and transfer them to the shoots which can be easily harvested.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a regenerator for heating gases, by alternatingly first heating heat carriers, preferably a bed of heat carrier bodies, and thereafter utilizing this energy stored by the heat carriers to heat cold gases. The essential feature of the invention is that a loose bed of the heat carriers is located between two coaxial and equidistant grates of the regenerator, and that the hot gas flows through this bed from the inside to the outside during the heating up phase of the regenerator and the cold gas flows through it in the reverse direction, from the outside to the inside, during the gas heating phase. This method and the regenerator provide advantages for gas heating due to lower thermal losses of the regenerator itself, and increased heat transmission is obtained due to large heat exchange surfaces of the heat carriers in a bed with a relatively low pressure loss for the gas flowing through.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for the recovery and recycling of heat from hot exhaust gases, specifically from exhaust gases in metallurgical processes and from warm gases having an exiting temperature of below about 800.degree. C. According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, warm or hot exhaust fuel gases transfer their retained heat to the lower portions of vertically positioned, capillary-type action heat transfer pipes. Cold air is then directed past the upper portion of the heat pipes, thereby transferring the heat of the heat transfer pipes to the cold air. The now heated air gains further heat, prior to introduction into the blast furnace, by passing over, previously heated refractory gratings.

摘要: Several ladles 11-14 for receiving hot metals are preheated by applying a lid 40, 42 to the rim of each ladle and directing an open flame through the lid into the ladle. The hot exhaust gases move back through the lid and through a heat exchanger 35-38 to heat the oncoming combustion air, and the exhaust gases from the ladles being preheated are combined and directed through a lid 41 applied to a ladle at a drying station to dry the ladle.

摘要: Gas is mixed into a main flow of gas in a cylindrical conduit by means of one or more feed conduits. In order to achieve good mixing and avoid concentrations of the added gas, the feed conduit(s) have two openings for outflow of the added gas, which openings are spaced from the wall of the cylindrical conduit, are symmetrically located with respect to the axis of the cylindrical conduit and lie in a plane perpendicular to that axis. The axis of these openings are mutually spaced by less than one half of the internal diameter of the conduit. The added gas emerges from the two openings in mutually opposite parallel directions, so that it tends to circulate around the axis. The arrangement has been found advantageous when applied to the feed of gaseous fuel to hot blast stoves of a blast furnace.
