    摘要: A bi-level tank includes a transfer tank and a return tank containing a volume of water, including transfer and return components in the transfer and return tanks, respectively, and a transition component. A bellows couples an upper surface of a piston in the transfer tank to the return component that exerts pressure on the upper surface, while a lower surface of the piston is under pressure from a pressured fluid supplied by a source thereof, producing a pressure differential on the piston. Actuation of a force-applying mechanism on the piston sufficient to overcome the pressure differential displaces the piston for exchanging respective volumes of the return component and the fluid from the source. An extensible and retractable constant-volume boot holds the transition component around the bellows and has valves configured to open and close for equalizing pressure between the boot and the transfer tank.

    摘要: The spring includes a composite elastomeric body having in one embodiment a closed end and an open end. A coil spring is embedded both within the body wall and the closed end, and provides reinforcement of both the body wall and the closed end. The body may be of cylindrical, conical, or other shape, depending upon the required function of the spring. It may also take an essentially hourglass shape or the shape of a cylinder flanged at both ends. Alternately, the spring may be internally pressurized to provide load leveling or air spring effects in addition to the variable rate load versus deflection curve normally obtained. The body may be attached directly to any surface to create an airtight seal. Alternately, a closure plate may be provided to seal an open end of the coil spring.

    摘要: In the interior of the housing of an accumulator, a metallic bellows and a self-seal mechanism are arranged. The metallic bellows partitions the interior of the housing into a gas chamber and a liquid chamber. The self-seal mechanism includes an elastic seal member and a face which the elastic seal member opposes. When the bellows is compressed to the predetermined extent due to introduction of a compressed gas into the gas chamber, the elastic seal member is brought into contact with the face, thus closing a flow port. The elastic seal member has a slanted face, so that a wedge-shaped liquid guide gap is produced when the elastic seal member is in contact with the face. When, in this condition, the compressed liquid is introduced into the flow port, part of the liquid enters the liquid guide gap, thus permitting the seal member to easily separate from the face.

    摘要: A deformable sealing member, particularly a sealing tube, which is at least partially elastic is secured at two distant locations to two working members, e.g. to a piston part and a cylinder part, respectively, to form a leakproof working chamber for pressurizing therein a working fluid or for transferring the power of a pressurized working fluid introduced in the working chamber to said working members, the apparatus thus being able to operate as a pump or motor, respectively. The sealing member is supported against the working pressure in said chamber by a support surface, and between said sealing member and said support surface there is a low-friction component which is constituted by a solid material, e.g. a sliding layer, secured to the sealing member or to the support surface, or by a fluid lubricant introduced in a flow passage formed between the sealing member and the support surface, in the latter case there being a continuous or intermittent stream of lubricant through this lubricant flow passage at least during high-pressure strokes of the working chamber to a low-pressure side. The pressure in the lubricant flow passage is balanced against the pressure of the working fluid by throttle means formed by the gap between the deformed sealing member, when under pressure of the working fluid, and the support surface and automatically adjusted or regulated by the lubricant volume or pressure in said passage on one side and by the working pressure in said chamber on the other side, so that substantial pressure balance between both surfaces of the sealing member wall will arise supporting the sealing member with distance from the support surface, i.e. substantially without friction and wear, and without excessive deformation. If solid low friction layers or surfaces are used, then "Teflon" or similar materials may be disposed on the sealing member and/or the support surface.

    摘要: A diaphragm-clamping arrangement, in which a spring washer having a frusto-conical shape is employed between the outer periphery of the diaphragm and one of the plate members between which the diaphragm is secured. In the free state of the spring washer, the spring washer height is greater than the space between the diaphragm and one plate member so that, when the plate members are joined together, the spring washer is compressed to thereby exert a clamping force on the diaphragm. The diaphragm-clamping point can be provided by either the inner or outer periphery of the spring washer, depending upon whether the frusto-conical shape is concave or convex. By forming an annular recess in the plate member with which the spring is engageable, proper location of the spring washer is facilitated during assembly, and subsequently maintained during clamping.
