摘要: Techniques for encoding a signal are described. A signal is down-sampled to generate a version of the signal. This version of the signal is then encoded to produce a first encoded signal. The first encoded signal is then decoded to produce a first decoded signal. The second decoded signal is up-sampled to obtain a first up-sampled decoded signal. A first residual signal is obtained by taking a difference between the first up-sampled decoded signal and a first reference signal. The first reference signal corresponds to the signal prior to down-sampling. The first residual signal is encoded to produce a first encoded residual signal. The first encoded residual signal and the first encoded signal may be received and decoded by a decoder to reconstruct the signal. The signal may comprise a set of frames of video.

摘要: Embodiments in the present specification provide a method and device for processing video signal including steps of: obtaining a sub-block transform (SBT) flag indicating whether a SBT is applied, wherein the SBT represents a transform applied to a transform unit corresponding to one of subblocks split from a coding unit; determining a variable value related to a transform target region based on the SBT flag and a size value of the transform unit, wherein if the SBT flag equals to 1 and the size value is greater than a threshold value, the variable value is determined as the threshold value; obtaining position information of a last significant coefficient according to a scan order within the transform unit, wherein the position information of the last significant coefficient is coded based on the variable value; and performing an inverse-transform based on the position information of the last significant coefficient.

摘要: In a method for video decoding in a decoder, transform coefficients associated with a coding block that is an L-shaped partition of a picture are decoded, by a processor and from a coded video bitstream. The L-shaped partition of the picture is partitioned into a plurality of rectangular sub-blocks when the coding block is the L-shaped partition, each corner of the L-shaped partition being a right angle. Residuals of each of the plurality of rectangular sub-blocks in the coding block are determined, by the processor, based on the transform coefficients of the respective rectangular sub-block. Samples of the coding block are reconstructed, by the processor, based on the residuals of the coding block.

摘要: A method of compressing image data comprising a set of image values each representing a position in image-value space so as to define an occupied region thereof. The method comprises selectively applying a series of compression transforms to subsets of the image data items to generate a transformed set of image data items occupying a compacted region of value space. The method further comprises identifying a set of one or more reference data items that quantizes the compacted region in value space. For each image data item in the set of image data items, a sequence of decompression transforms from a fixed set of decompression transforms is identified that generates an approximation of that image data item when applied to a selected one of the one or more reference data items. Each image data item in the set of image data items is encoded as a representation of the identified sequence of decompression transforms for that image data item. The encoded image data items, set of reference data items and the fixed set of decompression transforms are stored as compressed image data.
