Abstract:
The invention concerns a method and a device for repairing quay-protecting linings and similar structures. According to the invention a support mould (3) having an L-shaped cross-sectional configuration is attached to the external face of the quay-protecting lining, whereupon into said mould is inserted a lining sheeting having projecting gripping means (16) thereon, whereupon the casting compound is poured into the gap between the original quay-protecting lining (1) and the lining sheeting (4). After hardening of the casting compound the support mould is removed, the lining sheeting then forming a protective facing turned towards the water.
Abstract:
To inhibit fouling by marine life of an undersea structure, the part of the structure to be protect (32) is provided with a plurality of elongate fronds (20) of flexible plastics material, such that they can move against each other under the influence of water currents to create a constantly moving surface. Preferably the device is backed by a foam layer (50) which inhibits water movement against the surface of the structure thus reducing corrosion.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pile head reinforcement assembly of a steel pipe pile and, more specifically, to an upper end reinforcement structure of a steel pipe for foundation work, for reinforcing the upper end portion of the steel pipe, which is drilled to the ground for reinforcement. The present invention has an object to provide a pile head reinforcement assembly of a steel pipe pile, wherein a blade section is inserted into a vertical steel bar, which is mounted at an upper end portion of a steel pipe, so that the blade section is secured on top of the steel pipe and protruded outwards from the periphery of the steel pipe. The pile head reinforcement assembly of a steel pipe pile, which is mounted with the blade section, is buried into the concrete of a foundation section. Therefore, when placing the steel bar for forming the foundation section, it is possible to reduce the amount of the steel bar mounted to the steel pipe and form a stable foundation section for supporting an upper structure. In order to achieve the object, the present invention provides a pile head reinforcement assembly of a steel pipe pile, comprising: a base plate mounted for preventing concrete injection into the steel pipe pile which is buried under the ground; a plurality of vertical steel bars vertically mounted to the steel pipe pile; and lateral ties for connecting the vertical steel bars. The pile head reinforcement assembly of a steel pipe pile according to the present invention further comprises: the blade section inserted into the vertical steel bar so as to be secured on top of the steel pipe pile, and protruded in the outward direction of the periphery of the steel pipe pile so as to improve the structural stability and durability of foundation expanding concrete.
Abstract:
An axial reinforcement system is disclosed that provides a shell (i.e., a form or jacket) that protects a weight-bearing member (e.g., a cement column) from a corrosive environment and which also substantially increases the structural capacity of the weight-bearing member. The shell is integrated with "positioners" and reinforcing elements, the combination of which offers several advantages over conventional shells. The positioner is attached directly to the shell and the positioner is, in turn, secured to a reinforcing element, which can be a reinforced steel, such as rebar, or a carbon fiber reinforced polymer material. The axial reinforcement system has been found to substantially increase the structural rigidity of the weight-bearing member, while at the same time protecting the weight-bearing member from corrosion and is also simple to install.
