Abstract:
A method and system for managing performance data of communication lines, such as digital subscriber lines, is disclosed. The method includes receiving from a remote used device an identifier for a particular communication line at a web server; initiating a real-time performance analysis of the line at a network end of the line; receiving real-time performance data and converting the real-time performance data to analyze data; receiving field performance data from the user device; and converting at least one of the field performance data and the real-time performance data from a web-based format to a mainframe format; and sending the converted data to a mainframe for storage corresponding to a file associated with the identifier.
Abstract:
A geographic network management system (GNMS) comprises a web server, a database server, and a map server. A user browser connected to the GNMS transmits a search criteria to the web server. The web server transmits the search criteria to the map server. The map server geocodes the search criteria, obtains network data and geospatial data from the database server corresponding to the geocode, and transmits the geocode, the network data, and the geospatial data to the web server. The web server transmits the geocode, the network data, and the geospatial data to the user browser. The network data and the geospatial data are displayed on the user browser as a map displaying network elements of a telecommunication network relative to other network elements, geographic elements, and customers. One or more of the network elements have associated performance elements that display performance characteristics that signify performance attributes associated with the network element. The user browser can navigate through other network data and geospatial data by selecting network elements on the map or by selecting navigation tools or navigation tabs displayed in conjunction with the map.
Abstract:
A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for implementing a hybrid network. Orders for network capacity are issued based on a forecasted demand in order to develop a hybrid network. The hybrid network is analyzed to identify network problems. Then, the hybrid network is provisioned in accordance with the network problems and service requests. Usage of the hybrid network is determined and network usage control functions are initiated based on the determined usage.
Abstract:
An integrated series of security protocols is disclosed that protect remote user communications (22) with remote enterprise services, and simultaneously protect the enterprises services from third parties. In the first layer, an implementation of the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) version of a HTTPS provides communications security, including authentication of the enterprise web server and the security of the transmitted data. The protocols provide for an identification of the user, and an authentication of the user to ensure the user is who he/she claims to be and a determination of entitlements that the user may avail themselves of within the enterprise system. Session security is described, particularly as to the differences between a remote user's copper wire connection to a legacy system and a user's remote connection to the enterprise system over a "stateless" public Internet (15), where each session is a single transmission, rather than an interval of time between logon and logoff, as is customary in legacy systems. Security for the enterprise network and security for the data maintained by the various enterprise applications is also described.
Abstract:
A data warehousing infrastructure for telecommunications priced call detail data is integrated with a Web/Internet based reporting system providing a common GUI enabling the requesting, customizing, scheduling and viewing of various types of priced call detail data reports. Such an infrastructure performs an extraction process (500) to obtain only those billing detail records of entitled customers, and a harvesting process (600) for transforming the billing records into a star schema format for storage in one or more operational data storage devices. The system is integrated with a database server supporting expedient and accurate access to the customer's telecommunications priced call detail data for priced call detail data report generation.
Abstract:
An Intranet/Internet/Web-based data management tool that provides a common GUI enabling the requesting, customizing, scheduling and viewing of various types of unpriced call detail data reports pertaining to a customer's telecommunications network traffic. The Intranet/Internet/Web-based reporting system tool comprises a novel Web-based, client-server application that enables customers to access their own relevant data information timely, rapidly and accurately through a client GUI. A traffic view server is provided that enables periodic acquisition of data from the customer's telecommunications network at a user-specified frequency and configured to meet real-time traffic reporting requirements. The system infrastructure provided enables secure initiation, acquisition, and presentation of unpriced call detail and statistical data reports to customers.

Abstract:
A Web/Internet based monitoring system provides a common GUI enabling the requesting and real-time viewing of telecommunication network traffic and statistical data pertaining to a customer's telecommunication network. Such a monitoring system includes: a client browser application located at a client workstation for enabling interactive Web based communications between a customer and the monitoring system; at least one secure server for managing client sessions over the Internet via one or more secure connections; a device for generating statistical data based on real-time call data obtained from a telecommunications network, the statistical data being generated according to a pre-defined user profile; a mechanism for periodically retrieving the statistical data according to the user profile and for integrating the retrieved statistical data within a Web page for presentation to the user over a secure socket connection at pre-defined intervals. The Web page is updated to contain the latest generated statistical data at each interval.

Abstract:
A Web-based invoice viewing system and method for enabling a customer to generate invoices relating to various network services provided to the customer by an enterprise. The customer workstation having a Web browser (620) and a graphical user interface (630) to present a list of invoice documents organized into products and date ranges applicable to the customer for the customer to select and view. Various displays presented at the customer workstation may be printed, faxed, or queued for batch printing at the enterprise remotely. The customer is enabled to view dynamically summed results of numerical figures displayed on the invoice documents by highlighting the numbers in the document directly on the display.
Abstract:
A Web/Internet-based Outbound Network Management tool (200) that enables customers (100) of telecommunications network providers to modify outbound access to their virtual networks via a Web/Internet-based graphical user interface. Via a secure Web/Internet-based connection (222), the tool (200) enables customers (100) to add, create, modify or view their outbond network telecommunications network assets including: calling party numbers, calling cards, virtual network dialing plans, and their Code ID/Set attributes and features associated with their virtual networks.
