Abstract:
A sauna-like apparatus has a chamber defining a cavity to accommodate at least part of a body of a user and an infrared emitter within the chamber. It also has an ozone generator to pump ozone into the chamber. Infrared radiation in the far infrared range, ie radiation having a wavelength of between 5.6 µ and 1 mm. Ozone is generated by irradiating oxygen from a compressed cylinder with UV radiation. The apparatus further has a heart rate monitor.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a gait training control system. The gait training control system is provided in a gait training machine, comprising a control unit (110), implemented using a control data collection device, an operator manipulation unit (120), required to set a gait mode and observe gait status, a walking assistance unit (140) for driving respective joints of an impaired leg, and a detection unit (150) for detecting gait status of a healthy leg. Data from the detection unit (150), worn on the healthy leg, is detected to determine gait status of a patient, and the walking assistance unit, worn on the impaired leg, is driven in real time on a basis of the detected data. Accordingly, a doctor or a physical therapist in charge of the rehabilitation training of a patient can monitor the training status of the patient undergoing gait training in real time.
Abstract:
Nerve treatment/mobilization apparatuses are configured to mobilize a user's peripheral nervous system. The nerve treatment apparatus includes a back support, a pair of force applying members and a neck cradle. Additional optional attachments include upper body nerve mobilization tracks and a lower peripheral nerve mobilization device.
Abstract:
The present invention is a portable orthotic system that performs pre-defined or user-controlled limb movements, collects data regarding limb movement, performs data analysis and displays representations of the data and data analysis results in real time, and modifies current operational parameters based upon such data so as to optimize the rehabilitative process performed by the system.
Abstract:
A resuscitation device for automatic compression of a victim's chest using a compression belt which exerts force evenly over the entire thoracic cavity. The belt is constricted and relaxed through a motorized spool assembly that repeatedly tightens the belt and relaxes the belt to provide repeated and rapid chest compression.
Abstract:
A suction assembly (10) employs an air induction tube (12) to induct air into the recirculating water pump to cause the pump to cease pumping operation when the front face (24) of the assembly is blocked. The induction tube (12) is connected to a bleed path formed between the induction tube and a surrounding coaxial face tube (29) extending into the assembly from the front face (24). When the face is blocked by hair or the like, water in the induction tube bleeds into the main chamber (31) of the assembly and empties the induction tube (12). Air is then pulled into the pump, causing the pump to lose prime thereby reducing pump pressure to zero and allowing the hair or other blocking material to be removed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a whirlpool bathtub with one or more intake devices for the intake, conveyance and feed of water out of or into the tub, in which the water can be taken in at one or more points on the tub via intake valves with intake apertures and supplied to the tub at several points via nozzles with outlet apertures and supplies to the tub at several points via nozzles with outlet apertures or via the intake valves with outlet apertures themselves. The likelihood of the device's sucking in a bather's hair is prevented in that, in the direction of flow of the water taken in there is, at a distance behind the intake valve(s) there is a protective filter with a plurality of apertures which are so small that hair cannot be sucked into the protective filter.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for lip conditioning, including a mouthpiece having an opening configured to press against a portion of tissue or lips of a user; and a chamber configured to receive the portion of the tissue or lips of the user through the opening, wherein when the apparatus is configured to generate suction within the chamber, and to apply a negative pressure to a portion of tissue or lips of a user.
Abstract:
