Abstract:
This invention relates to a fabric having a pattern of fades and a methodology for their creation, both industrial and artistic. The fades are created by contacting at least one portion of the fabric with a hypochlorite salt-containing composition. The resulting fabric has a faded appearance either uniformly or non-uniformly. Methods, kits and a device for making a fabric having a pattern of fades are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A hair dye composition that is particularly applicable by localized capillary action, and comprises one or more FD&C and D&C dyes, water, alcohol, a vinylpyrrolidone/styrene copolymer, and a polymeric ruboff protector component for preventing ruboff of the color of the dye.
Abstract:
A cellulase preparation characterized by containing a transconjugant-origin endoglucanase together with a nonionic surfactant; detergent compositions obtained by blending the above cellulase preparation with detergent components; a method of treating a fiber characterized by treating a cellulose-containing fiber with the above cellulase preparation to thereby improve the properties of the fiber; a method of deinking waste paper characterized by involving the step of treating the waste paper with the above cellulase preparation together with a deinking agent; and a method of improving the freeness of paper pulp characterized by involving the step of treating the paper pulp with the above cellulase preparation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to variant EGIII or EGIII-like cellulases which have improved stability. The variant cellulases have performance sensitive residues replaced to a residue having improved stability.
Abstract:
A novel cellulase composition is provided which is producible by an Actinomycete. The cellulase has an approximate calculated molecular weight of 36 kD and has a pH optimum at 40 DEG C of 8 and at 60 DEG C of 7. Also provided is a DNA encoding said cellulase, a method for producing the cellulase and applications thereof.
Abstract:
A novel cellulase composition is provided which is producible by Actinomycete. The cellulase has an approximate calculated molecular weight of 35 kD and has a pH optimum at 40 DEG C of 6 and at 60 DEG C of 6 or less. Also provided is a DNA encoding said cellulase, a method for producing the cellulase and applications thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an oxidation and bleaching system with enzymatically produced oxidizing agents, namely an enzyme component system (ECM) as an oxidation and bleaching system for the production of special highly selective oxidizing agents, consisting of a) system components 1) at least one hydrolase from the enzyme class 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.2, 3.1.4 or 3.1.7 and/or at least one hydrolase from the enzyme class 3.5, 3.5.1, 3.5.2, 3.5.3, 3.5.4, 3.5.5 or 3.5.99; b) system components 2) at least one fatty acid, preferably containing C6 to C26 (saturated, monounsaturated or polyunsaturated); c) system components 3) at least one precursor oxidizing agent for reaction with the enzymes, and d) system components 4) at least one ketone from the group of the carbonyl compounds.
Abstract:
A new method of manufacturing a fabric or a garment with a stone-washed or worn look, the method comprising coating the yarn or fabric or garment with a polymer, e.g. a xyloglucan, prior to dyeing and afterwards creating the abraded or worn look by enzymatic degradation of said polymer, e.g. by using a xyloglucanase.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a new enzyme mixture content and a denim washing method using this enzyme mixture. The invention especially relates to an enzyme mixture which can be applied both without stone washing and without water, instead of bleaching with pumice stone, in the denim sector and which allows for more sustainable and environmentally friendly enzyme washing.
