Abstract:
Novel laccase mediators, including carboxyamido and cyano derivatives of 2, 6-dimethoxyphenol that exhibit improved hydrolytic stability and good bleaching performance. The novel laccase enzymes may be employed in conjunction with the 2,6-dimethoxyphenol derivatives of this invention to provide an improved method for bleaching denim fabrics.

Abstract:
A process for the bleaching of dyed textiles with peroxygen compounds is provided. The process comprises contacting the textiles with an aqueous solution of an iron salt, an aqueous solution of a peroxygen compound and subsequently an aqueous solution of a sequestrant for iron. The peroxygen compound can include Caro's acid, hydrogen peroxide, sources of hydrogen peroxide including sodium percarbonate and sodium perborate mono and tetrahydrates, low molecular weight alipathic peracids such as C1 to C6 alipathic peracids, especially performic, peracetic or perpropionic acid, and persulphate salts, including sodium, potassium and ammonium perdisulphates and potassium permonosulphate, and is preferably Caro's acid, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid or a persulphate salt. The process is particularly suitable for the bleaching of denim.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to a method for increasing the color of a dyed textile material comprising the steps of: a) pretreating the textile material with at least one nitrate salt and an acid catalyst, b) drying the pretreated fabric in a dryer at temperatures less than 60 °C, c) applying a leaser beam to the fabric to promote the chemical reaction to generate NO x compounds which attach the dye, and d) creating a color value change.
Abstract:
A method for decolorizing a dyed denim fabric through a dry ozone process obtains an aesthetically pleasing decolorized look or fashionably faded look in the denim fabric. The method comprises three dry ozone treatment processes used alone or in combination thereof. The first dry ozone treatment process includes wetting a denim textile product with water and oxidizing it with ozone. The second dry ozone treatment process includes spraying water to desired areas of the textile product and oxidizing it with ozone. The third dry ozone treatment process includes loading the denim textile product and wetted cotton fabric scraps into a drum, and oxidizing them with ozone.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Embodiments relate generally to methods and systems for bleaching textiles using ozone gas that incorporates a color removal step. In one example, there is provided a hybrid machine that incorporates certain features of a washer, but that also includes an integrated blower for gas distribution inside the machine. There is also provided an ozone dosing control system that allows for maintenance of a constant concentration of ozone in the machine. In one embodiment, the ozone output measured in grams/hour at this constant concentration in conjunction with the weight of product measured being treated may be referred to as the "bleaching factor." There is further provided a wastewater dye removal step, in which ozone is used to clean the water and remove dyes and other colors that may be deposited via denim or other garments.
