Abstract:
The present invention relates to articles and methods involving luminescent films which may be useful in various applications. Luminescent films of the present invention may comprise a layer of metal oxide nanoparticles and, in some cases, may interact with an analyte to generate a detectable signal, whereby the presence and/or amount of analyte can be determined. In some embodiments, fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) may occur between the luminescent film and the analyte. Such articles and methods may be useful in, for example, biological assays or in sensors.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Standardsatz zur Kalibrierung umfassend, mindestens drei Kalibrierstandards, aufgebaut aus einem Formkörper eines thermoplastischen Polymers enthaltend die Elemente Cd, Cr, Pb, Hg und Br, wobei das Verhältnis von Cr zu Pb zu Hg zu Br zu Cd in jedem der drei Kalibrierstandards unterschiedlich ist, sowie ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der Kalibrierstandards und deren Verwendung für die Röntgenfluoreszenzanalyse .

Applicants have produced a chromophore and a polymer that are highly sensitive to the presence of various agents, including organophosphates, pesticides, neurotoxins, metal ions, some explosives, and biological toxins. The detection is accomplished by detecting a change in the fluorescence characteristics of the chromophore or polymer when in the presence of the agent to be detected. The chromophore and polymer may be incorporated into sensors of various types, and they are adaptable for potential field use in areas where detection of these types of agents is desired.

Elle se rapporte également à des MPHOIM dans lesquels sont greffés ces composés par liaison covalente ou iono-covalente, à un procédé de fabrication de ces MPHOIM, ainsi qu'à des capteurs chimiques destinés à la détection ou au dosage de composés gazeux halogénés et comprenant ces MPHOIM comme matériaux sensibles. A method and apparatus to monitor the enantiomeric excess of chiral molecules participating in a chemical reaction. The method includes real time monitoring of the chemical reaction by obtaining a VCD spectra and an IR spectra of the chemical compounds in the reaction, and manipulating the spectra to obtain a % EE value. Using such real time information, the reaction parameters can be changed to shift the reaction to produce more of one chiral molecule than another.
