Abstract:
Vaccine based on ethanol inactivated pathogens, or part thereof, are described herein. Also disclosed are certain vaccines for treating COVID-19 or other coronavirus related diseases is created by deactivating the genome, genetic material or RNA encapsulated within the shell of virus without eliminating the spikes or spike protein, which both attaches the virus to a host cell and is detected by the body to produce antibodies. Treatment of an active coronavirus with a material such as an effective amount of ethanol will both penetrate the shell and deactivate the genetic material which causes the disease, for preparation of a vaccine.
Abstract:
A method, system and composition decontaminate a vessel. In an embodiment, a solvent composition for decontamination includes an amine oxide, polydimethylsiloxane, and water.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for completing a well that includes a subsurface barrier valve utilizes an injection valve which includes a variable orifice insert. The injection valve includes a mechanism for sensing pressure cycles that are employed during various well completion operations including pressure testing. The mechanism includes an indexing sleeve which will disable pressure functionality. Once this occurs, pressure cycling to open the barrier valve can proceed. Once the barrier valve opens, flow alone controls the injection valve during normal operations.
Abstract:
A jarring tool includes a spring and a hydraulic piston cylinder arrangement for controlling the release of a mandrel to initiate a jarring force. The tool includes an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the minimum amount of an upward pulling force required to release the mandrel. The adjustment mechanism includes an axially adjustable trigger sleeve that cooperates with a dog clutch surrounding the mandrel.
Abstract:
A method for treating sulfur contaminants is provided. The method comprises introducing a methylmorpholine-N-oxide solution to a vessel, wherein the vessel comprises a water layer and a gas layer, wherein the water layer and the gas layer comprise the hydrogen sulfide; introducing methylmorpholine-N-oxide into the water layer; and treating the water layer by allowing the methylmorpholine-N-oxide to react with the hydrogen sulfide.
Abstract:
A user-initiated data recognition and data conversion process allows for the conversion of unstructured data to structured data from a capture of an optical character recognition image with the unstructured data underneath. A method for converting unstructured data to structured data includes uploading a digital representation of a document to an optical character recognition server, scaling the digital representation of the document to fit the display size of a mobile device, using a touch interface to select unstructured data from the scaled digital representation of the document, populating the selected unstructured data in an electronic record to create structured data, and storing the structured data on a remote server.
Abstract:
A system and method allowing for the transfer of heat from a heating element in a tube heating system to production tubing in downhole pipes. The heating tube is comprised of double walled and double threaded pipe. The transferred heat warms the material being extracted from a subterranean formation and collected at the surface. Warming the material prevents the build-up of paraffins, asphaltenes, or other materials that may potentially clog production pipe in downhole applications.
Abstract:
A method and system treat contaminated water, in one embodiment, the method comprises treating contaminated water by introducing a methylmorphoiine-N-oxide solution to a vessel. The vessel contains the contaminated water and iron oxide. The contaminated water comprises contaminants, in addition, the methyltnorpholine-N-oxide solution comprises methylmoipholine-N-oxide and water. The method further comprises contacting the methylmorpholine-N-oxide solution with the contaminated water. In addition, the method comprises treating the contaminated water by allowing the roethylmorphoiine-N-oxide to react with the contaminants in the presence of the iron oxide.
Abstract:
A method and system remove hydrogen sulfide from a hydrocarbon containing fluid. In an embodiment, the method for removing hydrogen sulfide from a hydrocarbon containing fluid includes contacting a methylmorpholine-N-oxide solution with the hydrocarbon containing fluid. The method also includes allowing the methylmorpholine-N-oxide to react with the hydrogen sulfide to remove the hydrogen sulfide.
Abstract:
A pyrolysis and gasification system and method convert a biomass feed stock to bio-char and synthesis gas. In one embodiment, the pyrolysis and gasification system includes a reactor for producing a synthesis gas and bio-char from a biomass feedstock. The system includes a flow measurement device and an air distribution system, which provides a fluidized bed in the reactor. The system also includes a cyclone assembly. The cyclone assembly removes the bio-char from the synthesis gas.
