Abstract: A battery pack monitoring system for monitoring a plurality of battery modules within a battery pack. Primary monitoring circuits are coupled to monitor respective battery modules and have circuitry to output measurement values that correspond to the respective battery modules. At least one standby monitoring circuit is coupled to monitor at least one of the battery modules and includes circuitry to output a first measurement value that corresponds to the battery module. A pack controller selectively applies, in a determination of battery pack status, either the first measurement value from the standby monitoring circuit or a second measurement value from one of the primary monitoring circuits.

Abstract: A method comprises: applying, by a motor controller of an electric motor, a bandpass filter to a signal from a sensor on a rotor of the electric motor, the signal indicating rotational speed of the rotor to detect a torsional oscillation or vibration in a driveline of the electric motor to be attenuated; providing the filtered signal to a proportional derivative controller configured for disturbance rejection; generating, by the proportional derivative controller, an attenuation signal for attenuating the torsional oscillation or vibration in the driveline; combining the attenuation signal with a driver torque command signal to produce a combined torque command signal, the driver torque command signal indicating an amount of torque requested from the electric motor; and producing torque with the electric motor based on the combined torque command signal.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a plurality of loudspeakers, memory storing pre-stored sound files, encoding a sound for rendering by the loudspeakers, memory storing an attribute file containing attributes associated with the sounds and associated with audio streams, the attributes defining parameters for rendering each of the sounds and audio streams. An audio manager is configured for receiving the pre-stored sound files, audio streams, and attributes from the attribute file, the received attributes corresponding to the received pre-stored sound files and audio files. The audio manager is configured for, based on the received attributes, determining relative priorities for rendering the received pre-stored sound files and audio streams. An audio mixer is configured for, based on the determined relative priorities, outputting signals to the loudspeakers to render the received pre-stored sound files and audio streams according to the determined relative priorities.

Abstract: Described techniques include producing data at a producer node of a data pipeline for processing vehicle data characterizing an operation of a vehicle. The producer node may select a data buffer from a plurality of shared data buffers shared by at least two consumer nodes and write the data to the selected data buffer. Event data may be received at an event producer node of the data pipeline, and the event data may be written by the event producer node to at least one control buffer of a plurality of shared control buffers that are shared by the at least two consumer nodes. Synchronized consumption of the data from the selected data buffer by each of the at least two consumer nodes may thus be executed, based on the event data, to thereby complete the processing and characterize the operation of the vehicle.

Abstract: In a general aspect, a method includes measuring, for a permanent magnet motor having a rotor rotating at a speed, a direct-axis voltage in a rotor frame of reference. The speed is determined by an angular position sensor. The method further includes comparing the measured direct-axis voltage with a reference voltage, and determining, based on the comparing, an angle offset estimate of the angular position sensor. The method also includes iteratively adjusting the angle offset estimate until the measured direct-axis voltage substantially equals the reference voltage.

Abstract: A method comprises: receiving, by a motor controller, a torque command for a permanent magnet motor of an electric vehicle, wherein the permanent magnet motor is coupled to an inverter having transistors, and wherein the permanent magnet motor has a present speed; determining a present base speed of the permanent magnet motor; and in response to the torque command meeting a zero-torque criterion while the present speed meets a below-base-speed criterion, ceasing, by the motor controller, a toggling of the transistors so that the transistors are nonconductive.
