The present invention concerns a process tor the preparation of a compound of formula (I) in the form of any one of its stereoisomers or mixtures thereof, and wherein the dotted line may represents an additional bond and R a represents a hydrogen atom or a Si(R b ) 3 or (R b ) 2 COH group, each R b representing C 1-6 alkyl group or a phenyl group. The invention concerns also the compound (I) as well as its use for the synthesis of β-santalol or of derivatives thereof.

The present invention relates to some sandalwood perfuming ingredients, which are 2-[perhydro-trialkyl-2-naphthalenylidene]-1-propanol or propanal derivatives of formula wherein one dotted line represents a carbon-carbon single bond and the other a carbon- carbon single bond or double bond; X represents a CH 2 OH group or a CHO group; each R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and the R 2 , taken separately, represent each a hydrogen atom or the two R 2 groups, taken together, represent a CH 2 group or a carbon-carbon double bond; and said compound is in the form of any one of its stereoisomers or a mixture thereof. The present invention concerns the use of said compounds in the perfumery industry as well as the compositions or articles containing said compounds.

The present invention relates to the field of organic synthesis and more particularly to a new process for the preparation of a compound of formula (I), in the form of any one of its isomers or a mixture thereof, Formula (I) wherein, more preferably, G represents a C=O group, R 1 represents a butyl group and R 2 represents a methyl group. The process of the invention involves an 2-(1-hydroxyalkyl)-cyclopent-2-en-1-one derivative, as starting material, which can be then converted into a compound of formula (I) by a process comprising a thermal rearrangement. The 2-alkylidene-3-oxo-cyclopentylacetate derivative and the 2-(1-hydroxyalkyl)-cyclopent-2-en-1-one derivative are also an object of the invention.

The present invention concerns a dynamic mixture obtained by combining, in the presence of water, at least one diamine derivative, comprising at least one heteroaryl moiety, with at least two perfuming aldehydes and/or ketones. The invention's mixture is capable of releasing in a controlled and prolonged manner said perfuming compounds, in particular perfuming ingredients, into the surrounding environment. The invention's dynamic mixture gives rise to a more evenly distributed positive effect for the release of the different carbonyl compounds which are part of the mixture than other examples reported in the prior art.

The present invention concerns some derivatives of the 2-ethyl-4-(2',2'-dimethyl- 3-alkyl-3'-cyclopenten-1'-yl)-4-penten-1-ol type, as defined in the description. Said compounds are very interesting perfuming ingredients due to their unusual combination 5 of sandalwood and floral notes. The present invention concerns the use of said compounds in the perfumery industry as well as the compositions or articles containing said compounds.

The present invention relates to the field of perfumery and concerns the use as perfuming ingredient of ketones of formula wherein n represents 0, 1 or 2, m represents 0, 1 or 2, the dotted lines represent only single bonds or one double bond and two single bonds, R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl or ethyl group, said R 1 group being located at any of the position of the cyclic moiety, R 2 represents a C 1 -C 3 O-alkyl or O-alkenyl group or a substituted or unsubstituted ethylene or cyclopropyl group. Said compounds are useful to impart a clean and natural fruity, pineapple odor type. The present invention concerns also the compositions or articles containing said compounds (I) as well as some of said compounds (I).
