Abstract:
The present invention proposes a method for data element information management in a network environment, the network environment comprising a plurality of data element information database entities (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d), each keeping a respective record of data element information for a plurality of subscribers, and a request routing entity (3), adapted to route (4, S2) requests to a selected one of said plurality of database entities, the method comprising the steps of transmitting (S1) a data element information update for a specific subscriber to said request routing entity (3), selecting, at said request routing entity (3), one (5b) of said plurality of database entities for said specific subscriber, forwarding (S2) said data element information update to said selected database entity (5b), and relaying (S5) said data element information update from said selected database entity (5a) to another database entity (5d) of said plurality of database entities. Also, the present invention concerns a request routing entity and a database entity, adapted to mutually cooperate with each other in order to perform the method according to the present invention.
Abstract:
The present invention proposes a method for enabling a subscriber entity to actively communicate in a communication network, a subscriber entity being identified by at least one assigned subscriber identity (IMSI, MSISDN), said communication network comprising at least one database entity of a first type(5a, 5b) keeping a first record of data of subscriber entities enabled to actively communicate in a communication network, the method comprising the steps of: storing said at least one assigned subscriber identity of at least one subscriber entity not enabled to actively communicate in said communication network in a database entity (4) of a second type, informing (S2a, S2b) said database entity (4) of said second type about a need to enable said at least one not enabled subscriber entity to actively communicate in said communication network, and, upon being informed, transferring (S3) information related to a subscriber entity not enabled, from said database (4) of said second type to a selected one (5b) of said at least one database entity of said first type (5a, 5b). Also, the present invention proposes an accordingly adapted database entity of the above mentioned second type and a register entity for interaction with said database entity of said second type.

The present invention describes a dynamic managing method, system and extended naming service framework for enabling service availability in a computer system comprising at least one or more client applications, one or more server applications for providing one or more services, and wherein the client applications use one or more services. The system further comprises one or more entities or pieces of physical equipment for providing one or more server applications and a management entity for supervising and recovering the entities or physical equipment. The framework provides a solution to the problem of locating and managing services within a system. The framework provides a centralised storage of information about all the services within a system, although it can also be a distributed solution as well. Source of information about the services are the service providers themselves or mapped information from HA notifications concerning physical equipment, e.g. a LAN port etc.
