Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for detecting an error in the measurement of a water level in a washing machine. The apparatus comprises: a water-level sensor for measuring the water level in a wash tub; a water supply/discharge device, which supplies water into the wash tub or discharges water from the wash tub; and a control unit, which controls the water supply/discharge device so as to adjust the actual water level in the wash tub, and which detects an error in the measurement of the water level sensor based on the variation in the water level measured by the water-level sensor during the measurement of the actual water level. According to the present invention, a user may recognize an error in the measurement carried out by the water level sensor, and prevent the outbreak of a fire in advance when the water remaining in an air trap is frozen or the pressure in the air trap changes, and further, the unnecessary waste of water or detergent may be reduced.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a dishwasher, comprising a washing chamber (20) and a tank (40, 400) for collecting soiled washing water, and a cleaning device arranged in the tank region, said cleaning device comprising at least two sieves (100, 200) of different mesh width, wherein the sieve having the smallest mesh width (200) is arranged in such a way that said sieve extends at least partially in a vertical direction and divides the tank at least partially in the horizontal direction into a filtrate region (280), in which the tank has a drain (440) that is connected to a washing pump (444), and a remaining region (260), in which the tank has a drain (420) that is connected to a drain pump (424), wherein the sieve having the smallest mesh width is designed and arranged in such a way that the washing water to be cleaned can travel from the remaining region (260) to the filtrate region (280) only through the sieve lining of the sieve having the smallest mesh width, a sensor being arranged in the filtrate region, said sensor being able to determine if the level of the washing water in the filtrate region falls below a predetermined level height. The invention further relates to a cleaning device for such a dishwasher.
Abstract:
A dish washing machine has at least one washing system (51, 52) that has a nozzle system with at least one washing nozzle (13, 13-1, 13-2) for spraying washing, a washing tank (14; 14-1, 14-2) for capturing at least part of the sprayed washing liquid, and a washing pump (11; 11-1, 11-2) for feeding washing liquid collected in the washing tank (14; 14-1, 14-2) to the at least one washing nozzle (13, 13-1, 13-2). A dirt capture system (70) separates dirt particles from the sprayed washing liquid flowing back into the washing tank (14; 14-1, 14-2) as a result of gravity, and a dirty-water pump (74; 74-1, 74-2) is connected for discharging the dirt particles from the dirt capture system (70). A control device (100) is designed for the mutually coordinated activation of the washing pump (11; 11-1, 11-2) and of the dirty-water pump (74; 74-1, 74-2), so that the recirculation circuit of the washing system (51, 52) can be interrupted for a first time span (Tl), and the discharge of dirt particles takes place within this first time span (Tl) or, at the latest upon the expiry of this first time span (Tl), within a second time span (T2). The invention also relates to a corresponding method for the mutually coordinated activation of the pumps (11, 74).
Abstract:

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for operating a washer which comprises a washing chamber for accommodating goods to be cleaned, said washing chamber having in its lower portion a sump for collecting water during operation of the washer, a water inlet connected to a water tank, preferably to a water tank that is integrally, still preferably detachably, formed with the dishwasher, a pump for circulating water through the washing chamber, and a control unit for controlling a washing process carried out by the washer. In accordance with a first embodiment of the method of the invention, in this method: water is fed from the tank into the sump by the action of the hydrostatic pressure prevailing within the tank; the pressure within the sump or close to the sump is measured; and based on the pressure measurement the speed of the water flow is monitored and the filling level of the tank is determined, and at least one parameter and/or step of the washing process is controlled and/or indicator signals are issued to a user of the washer.

The method includes a selecting of a wash cycle and inputting of command settings by a user, starting operation of the dishwasher according to the selected cycle and driving a wash pump and discharge member, and controlling the dishwasher during the cycle to end the wash cycle with an upper arm operating.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for operating a domestic dishwasher (1, 1a), said dishwasher comprising a washing compartment (4), which is filled by a fresh water supply line (17), said supply line being provided with an inlet valve (16); a circulating pump (10), which is connected to the washing compartment (4) on the suction side and to at least one spray device (7, 8) on the delivery side; an evacuation pump (12), which is connected to the washing compartment (4) on the suction side and to a discharge line (15) on the delivery side, and a programme control device (2), which also contains control units for controlling the pumps. The aim of the invention is to provide a simple means of partially replacing the washing liquid without any unnecessary consumption of water or energy. To this end, both pumps (10, 12) are operated in order to partially replace the washing liquid and the quantity of washing liquid to be pumped out and replaced is determined using the speed of the variable-speed circulating pump (10).
