    摘要: An implantable medical lead having an elongated lead body extending from a proximal end to a distal end, at least one conductor extending within the lead body from the proximal end to the distal end, and a fixation member having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the electrode configured to be electrically coupled to the distal end of the lead body. The fixation member includes a first delivery port and second delivery port for releasing a therapeutic agent from the fixation member to tissue of a patient, wherein the first delivery port is positioned along the proximal end of the fixation member to deliver the therapeutic agent to endothelial cells along an endothelial layer of tissue, and the second delivery port is positioned along the distal end of the fixation member and spaced a distance from the first delivery port.

    摘要: Various embodiments of a sealed package and a method of forming such package are disclosed. The package can include a non-conductive substrate that includes a cavity disposed in a first major surface. A cover layer can be disposed over the cavity and attached to the first major surface of the non-conductive substrate to form a sealed enclosure. The sealed package can also include a feedthrough that includes a via between a recessed surface of the cavity and a second major surface of the substrate, and a conductive material disposed in the via. An external contact can be disposed over the via on the second major surface of the non-conductive substrate, where the external contact is electrically connected to the conductive material disposed in the via. The sealed package can also include an electronic device disposed within the sealed enclosure that is electrically connected to the external contact.

    摘要: Cardioversion or defibrillation of the heart is carried out by passing electrical energy through the heart. An electrical energy storage device, such as a battery and capacitor, are connected to an electronic processor. The energy storage device and the electronic processor are sized to be implantable within the body of the patient. Two leads are subcutaneously implanted and connected to the energy storage device under control of the processor. An electrode is connected to each lead, and are also subcutaneously implanted, the first able proximate the heart and an anterior portion of the ribcage in the patient's chest, and the second proximate the heart and a posterior portion of the ribcage in the patients back. Sensors transmit information to the processor relating to heart function, and under control of software, the processor causes the electrodes to be energized to restore normal heart function.
