Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Partikelnenthaltend Metall-organische Gerüstverbindungen(metal organic frameworks MOF). Die mit dem Verfahren hergestellten Partikel eigen sich inbesondere zur Reinigung oder Abtrennung von Gasen oder zur Entfernung von toxischen Gasen aus Luft. Das Herstellungsverfahren zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die Gelierung einer MOF-Gel-Precusorlösungin einem mit der MOF-Gel-Precusorlösung nicht mischbaren Fluid oder in Poren einer makroporösen Matrix erfolgt. Vorteilhaft können dadurch bindemittelfreie Pratikel erhalten werden.

Described is a method of producing spherical particles made from inorganic oxides by sol/gel conversion in which a sol is sprayed upwards from below into a reaction zone containing a reactant gas in such a way that the sol does not split up into individual droplets until immediately before or as it enters the reaction zone, and the droplets thus formed fly through the reaction zone along a curved trajectory during which they are presolidified, the presolidified droplets being caught in a trap. Also described are spherical particles made from inorganic oxides with a narrow pore-diameter distribution and a resistance to wear which are suitable for use as catalysts, catalyst supports, adsorbants, drying agents or ion-exchange materials.

The solid particles formed from the solidifying agent (in 60) are then separated. The invention enables solid particles capable of containing micro-organisms such as yeasts to be obtained at a high rate and with a precise solidifying time, while avoiding the formation of agglomerates.

The present invention relates to a catalytic composition built up from a ceramic material comprising a catalytic material and a first and second inorganic binder and a catalytic structure made thereof. Preferably, said structure is made by a colloidal ceramic shaping technique. Use of the structure for catalytic or ion exchange applications is provided as well. It is demonstrated that the catalytic structures of the invention have excellent mechanical, physicochemical and catalytic properties.

A process for producing product particles includes producing, by means of a droplet-based microfluidic technique, a plurality of primary droplets of a first liquid phase dispersed in a continuous second liquid phase. The first liquid phase is immiscible with the second liquid phase. An emulsion of the primary droplets in the second liquid phase is formed. A liquid adjunct is admixed with the emulsion. The liquid adjunct comprises secondary droplets of a third liquid phase, and/or particles, dispersed in a fourth liquid phase. The third liquid phase and/or the particles and/or the fourth liquid phase include a reagent capable of reacting with a component of the first liquid phase. The secondary droplets and/or the particles (whichever is/are present) are smaller than the primary droplets. The secondary droplets are allowed to coalesce with the primary droplets, and/or the particles are allowed to mix with primary droplets, thereby to form tertiary droplets. In the tertiary droplets, the reagent is allowed to react with the component of the first liquid phase, so that product particles are formed from the tertiary droplets. The product particles are recovered from the second liquid phase.

Disclosed herein is a method of method of preparing transparent or nontransparent silica aerogel granules. The method includes forming a granular wet gel by spraying a silica sol into alcohol, the silica sol being prepared by mixing a water glass solution or an opacifier-containing water glass solution with an inorganic acid solution, forming a granular alcohol gel through gelation aging and solvent substitution of the granular wet gel in alcohol, hydrophobically modifying the surface of the granular alcohol gel using an organic silane compound, and drying the surface modified gel at ambient pressure or in a vacuum. The method may prepare silica aerogel granules in a short period of time through heat treatment at a relatively low temperature and at ambient pressure or in a vacuum, thereby ensuring excellent economic feasibility, continuity and reliability, suited for mass production.
