Verfahren und Formwerkzeug zum Herstellen eines kaschierten Formteils, vorzugsweise eines Formteils zur Innenverkleidung eines Fahrzeuges, bestehend aus einem formstabilen Trägerteil und einer mit diesem verbundenen sichtseitigen Kaschierung aus Folie, Geweben oder ähnlichen dekorativen Kaschierungswerkstoffen, bei dem ein erwärmter Zuschnitt eines matten- oder plattenförmigen Halbzeuges (1) aus bindemittelhaltigen Faserwerkstoffen in einem Formwerkzeug zum Formteilteil ausgeformt und dabei gleichzeitig mit der Kaschierung (2) verbunden wird ("One-Shot" -Verfahren), wobei die Kaschierung mit Hilfe von "Voreilern" (3.1; 3.2) vor dem Ausformbzw. Kaschiervorgang mit dem Halbzeug (1) bereichsweise verbunden wird, um eine genaue Positionierung einer Naht (4) oder dergleichen zu erreichen.

Modular devices are capable of thermoforming external surfaces of objects (22) from panels of thermoformable plastic materials; carrying out three-dimensional scannings of pre-existing objects taken as model, translating them into external surfaces of virtual objects capable of being processed by means of CAD programs; carrying out remote reproduction operations of the previously digitalized surfaces or of surfaces of obtained from CAD data conserved in a database, in the form of objects thermoformed in plastic material; more generally, the system is capable of producing from a panel of thermoformable plastic material the copy of the external surface of any object whatsoever or of translating the external surface of any object whatsoever into the virtual external surface of the same object and thermoforming, even remotely, the geometry of the external surface of a virtual object into a plastic external surface.
Abstract:
A plug assist assembly for positioning a thermo-formable sheet onto one of a plurality of different female molds. The assembly comprises a lifting apparatus and a frame. The frame extends from the lifting apparatus which provides for beneficial movement of the frame. A plurality of movable weights are suspended from the frame for contacting and automatically conforming to a contour of any of the female molds. The plurality of weights create a seal between the sheet and the female mold to allow the sheet to be vacuum formed against the mold.

L'invention concerne un ensemble de thermoformage comprenant une partie de moule inférieure (20) et une partie de moule supérieure (34), les deux parties de moule étant mobiles selon une direction sensiblement verticale entre une position ouverte et une position fermée, ledit ensemble comprenant en outre des organes de maintien (28) pour pouvoir maintenir une plaque de matériau thermoplastique ramolli(10), selon un plan moyen Pm sensiblement horizontal entre lesdites deux parties de moule. Lesdits organes de maintien comprennent une pluralité de tiges (28) montées mobiles dans ladite partie de moule inférieure (20), et lesdites tiges (28) viennent s'étendre en saillie de ladite partie de moule inférieure (20), lorsque lesdites deux parties de moule (20, 34) sont dans ladite position ouverte, pour pouvoir maintenir ladite plaque de matériau thermoplastique ramolli(10) selon ledit plan moyen Pm sensiblement horizontal, et l'accompagné lors de la fermeture.

Process of making a plastic component (1), in particular luggage shell, from self-reinforced thermoplastic material, to a plastic component (1) made of self-reinforced thermoplastic material and an apparatus for making such a plastic component, in particular luggage shell (7). The invention provides a new product and process for manufacturing same on the basis os self-reinforced thermoplastic material by means of the step of tensioning said material (lamina), at least partially tensioning said lamina during all follow-up component shaping and/or molding steps up to a release of a component pre-form shape from the remainder lamina, to form the component. The present invention allow the manufacturing of an ultra-light weight luggage shell (7) on the basis of using self-reinforced thermoplastic material, the manufacturing of same can be further enhanced by permanently tensioning said material during all manufacturing steps up to the final finishing of the product.

A trim component (1) for an automobile or the like includes a substrate (2) and two different cover materials such as a cover film (3) and a cover cloth (4). The two cover materials (3, 4) are not spliced together, but instead are independently adhesively bonded directly onto the substrate (2) by a hot-melt contact adhesion. The junction (7) is received in a valley (6) of the substrate (2) that is pinched closed during molding of the trim component. For forming the trim component, a molding apparatus includes a horizontally movable pinching stamp (13) that forms a pinching gap (16) relative to a protruding edge (11A) of a fixed mold tool (11). A tucking blade (22) presses the substrate and junction (7) of the cover sheets into the pinching gap (16), and is then retracted while the pinching stamp (13) pinches closed the pinching gap (16). This forms a tightly closed valley (6) in the substrate (2) with the junction (7) cleanly pinched therein, without leaving a gap and without requiring a trim strip to be applied thereon.

A method for making objects (50) by forming a thermoformable sheet material (40), comprises forming said objects (50) by interaction of die means (2) and forming means (3), and comprises, before said forming, compressing and crushing a first portion (41) of said sheet material (40) by crushing punch means (5) and maintaining said first portion (41) crushed during said forming to reduce a thickness thereof and to orientate chains of molecules that compose a structure of said sheet material (40) at said first portion (41) so as to weaken said structure and make said first portion (41) weakened, in particular easily perforable, tearable and breakable.
