Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Manövrieren eines Gespannes (1) mit einem Kraftwagen (2) und einem Anhänger (3), mit den Schritten: Empfangen von Abtastdaten durch eine Recheneinrichtung (13) des Kraftwagens (2) von einem Abstandssensor (4, 5) des Kraftwagens (2), wobei die Abtastdaten einen Abstand (d) zwischen einem Heck (8) des Kraftwagens (2) und einer dem Heck (8) zugewandten Vorderseite (9) des Anhängers (3) repräsentieren; Ermitteln einer Stellung des Anhängers (3) aus den empfangenen Abtastdaten durch die Recheneinrichtung (13) und Vorgeben einer Fahrtrichtung für den Kraftwagen (2) unter Berücksichtigung der Stellung des Anhängers (13) durch die Recheneinrichtung (13), um das Manövrieren eines Gespannes mit einem Kraftwagen und mit einem Anhänger zu vereinfachen. Die Erfindung betrifft auch eine zur Durchführung des Verfahrens geeignete Fahrerassistenzvorrichtung.

Apparatus and methods are provided to eliminate transient swaying of a towed vehicle imparted upon the towed vehicle during a towing operation by decoupling the towing and towed vehicles rotationally from each other. In one embodiment this is accomplished through the use of a doubly hinged tow bar and to steer the towed vehicle based upon the relative angular deflections of the two vehicles while subtracting out transient rotations of the towing vehicle.

The trailer comprises a semi-trailer body adapted to carry goods, a dolly mounted beneath the front of the semi-trailer body and connected to the semi-trailer body by a pivoting connection, said dolly comprising road wheels attached in one or more axle sets to a dolly frame, and a drawbar assembly connecting the dolly frame to a preceding vehicle unit by means of a trailer coupling assembly. The drawbar assembly defines an instant centre of rotation for the dolly which is located forwards of said trailer coupling assembly while the vehicle is moving forwards at high speeds, and which is located at least substantially at the trailer coupling assembly while the vehicle is moving forwards at low speeds.

The aerodynamic stabilizer is an airfoil (a wing), which is mounted on a caravan A-frame. It leads part of the airflow, which otherwise would impringe on the front, up and over the caravan roof. This reduces the total air resistance and therefore the lifting force on the nose. At the same time the airfoil puts pressure on the nose and balances the noseweight. The airfoil is equipped with vortex plates which increases the effect and aids adjustment of the angle of attack. The support arm is pivoted. The aerodynamic stabilizer allows towing a caravan with low noseweight and high stability, it eliminates the "critical speed".
