摘要： A flexible, stackable container for storing a quantity of a product may include a package formed from a single sheet of a lid fitment attached to a top side of the package. The top side of the package may have an outer first surface of the film and outwardly extending corner seals formed in the film at the edges of the top side and surrounding the top side of the package. The lid fitment may include a base having a central opening and a lid having a complimentary shape to the base to form a seal therebetween when the lid is closed down onto the base. The base may be sealed to one of the top surface of the top side, to the corner seals surrounding the top side, or to both, such that a portion of the top surface is accessible from the exterior of the container when the lid is separated from the base of the lid fitment. In other embodiments, the lid fitment may be attached at an open top end of the package, either directly or by a reinforcement ring, and may further include a cover attached to the lid fitment or the reinforcement ring to retain a quantity of a product in the container when the lid of the lid fitment is opened until the cover is punctured or removed.

摘要： An ultrasonic sealing device for a top fin of a gable- topped carton includes two jaws consisting of a jaw (2) with a planar active face and constituting the outer end portion of an ultrasonic horn (A1) and a jaw (6) constituting an anvil and having an active surface (10) which is planar except for upper and lower linear ribs (12) and (14) each extending the length of the surface (10). The lower rib (14) is linear and horizontal except for an upwardly bowed middle portion (16). The two jaws (2) and (6) serve to render gas-and-liquid tight a top fin of a conventional, plastics-coated paperboard, gable-top carton. The ribs (12) and (14) produce, in the outer surface of one of the outer sealing panels of the fin, corresponding furrows which extend over the whole length of the fin at levels where the inner sealing panels are sandwiched between the outer sealing panels, so as to seal the top fin in a gas-and liquid-tight manner along its whole length.

The carton includes top fin panels configured for sealing to one another to form a top seal. The method includes actuating a first control valve (72) to provide communication between a first pressurized fluid source (64) and a first port (66) of an actuator (38) for moving the actuator toward a first position. The actuator is operatively connected to the sealing jaws (30,30') to move the sealing jaws in a clamping direction while moving toward the first position. A second control valve (74) is actuated to inhibit fluid escape from the actuator through a second port (70) of the actuator to inhibit movement of the sealing jaws in the clamping direction.

The apparatus includes a cam that rotates about an axis of rotation and a cam lever that is operatively connected to the cam. The cam lever is used to convert rotating motion of the cam into linear motion to define a first stroke distance. A pressure pad is mounted for movement toward and away from the portions of the carton blank. The pressure pad is capable of being moved in response to input provided by the cam to define a second stroke distance. An air spring is mechanically linked to the cam lever and the pressure pad such that the air spring absorbs a portion of the first stroke distance.

Problematisch ist das Heißversiegeln im hochfrequenten elektrischen Wechselfeld, wenn die Anzahl der Lagen des Laminats in dem Siegelbereich variiert. Um ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Heißversiegeln mehrerer Lagen eines Laminats in einem hochfrequenten elektrischen Wechselfeld zu schaffen, bei dem Probleme durch einen zu großen oder zu kleinen Wärmeeintrag in die zu versiegelnden Lagen des Laminats vermieden werden, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, dass das elektrische Wechselfeld in einem ersten Teilbereich (71) des Siegelbereichs (70) mit einer ersten Leitung der HF-Spannungsversorgung und in mindestens einem zweiten Teilbereich (72) des Siegelbereichs (70) mit einer von der ersten Leitung abweichenden zweiten Leistung der HF-Spannungsversorgung erzeugt wird, so dass sich eine unterschiedliche Wärmeverteilung über die Teilbereiche (71, 72) des Siegelbereichs (70) ergibt.
