Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a process for addition of amines to carbon-carbon double bonds in a substrate, comprising: reacting an amine with a compound containing at least one carbon-carbon double bond in the presence a transition metal catalyst catalyst under reaction conditions effective to form a product having a covalent bond between the amine and the carbon-carbon double bond. The transition metal catalyst comprises a Group 8 metal and a ligand containing one or more 2-electron donor atoms. The present invention is also directed to enantioselective reactions of amine compounds with compounds containing carbon-carbon double bonds, and a colorimetric assay to evauluate potential catalysts in these reactions.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract:
This invention is directed to functionalized higher diamondoids having at least one functional group. These derivatives have a higher diamondoid nucleus and up to six independently selected functional groups. The functionalized higher diamondoid compounds may also be of the formula D-L-(D) n wherein D is a higher diamondoid nucleus and L is a linking group and n is 1 or more. The functionalized higher diamondoid compouds additionally may be of the formula R 38 -D-D-R 39 wherein D is a higher diamondoid nucleus and R 38 and R 39 are substituents.
Abstract:
A process is disclosed for producing aromatic amines by catalytic hydrogenation of corresponding aromatic nitro compounds in the gaseous phase on fixed catalysts which contain one or several metals of groups VIIIa, Ib, IIb, IVa, Va, VIa, IVb and Vb of the periodic table of elements (Mendeleev) on a ceramic substrate with a BET surface of less than 40 m /g, at molar ratios from hydrogen to nitro group(s) from 3:1 to 30:1 and at temperatures in the catalytic bed from 180 to 500 DEG C. The process is characterised in that the aromatic nitro compound load of the catalyst is continuously or gradually increased from 0.01-0.5 to 0.7-5.0 kg/l x h, the maximum load being attained within 10 to 1000 hours. This process can be carried out without problems on an industrial scale and ensures a high space-time yield, together with an improved productivity of the catalysts used. 00000
