Abstract:
In order to enable various applications of non-Newtonian fluids, which are not hitherto possible as a result of the difficult handling ability of such fluids, a method for producing a non-Newtonian fluid is proposed, in which at least one starting material that can be cross-linked to form a non-Newtonian fluid and a solvent, in which a cross-linking agent for cross-linking the starting material is dissolved, are provided, wherein the solvent has an inhibiting effect on the cross-linking of the polymer. These components are mixed and the solvent is removed from the mixture, whereby the cross-linking agent is released in the mixture and the polymer is cross- linked by means of the cross-linking agent.

The present invention is directed to a unique composition and method for promoting adhesion of substrates to adhesives. The solution comprises a water based primer composition comprising: a) a hydrosylate of one or more alkoxysilyl amine; b) a surfactant; c) an organotitanate, organozirconate, or combinations thereof; d) optionally a fluorescing compound; and e) water. Preferably the organotitanate or organozirconate correspond to formula (I): wherein M is titanium or zirconium and R 8 comprises hydrocarbyl ligands, which may optionally contain one or more heteroatoms comprising oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur or phosphorus, optionally two or more of R 8 may combine to form a cylic ring structure. Preferably the composition and method of the invention can be used to bond glass or plastic coated with an abrasion resistant coating, in particular a window for a vehicle, to other substrates such as metal or plastics.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Kieselsäure(hetero)polykondensate aus mindestens einem Silan mit einem über ein Kohlenstoffatom an Silicium gebundenen Rest, der eine organisch polymerisierbare C=C-Doppelbindung trägt, und mindestens einem Silan mit einem über ein Kohlenstoffatom an Silicium gebundenen Rest, der eine Sulfonat- oder Sulfatgruppe der Formel -(O) d -SO 3 M mit d = 0 oder 1 und M = Wasserstoff oder ein einwertiges Metallkation oder der entsprechende Anteil eines mehrwertigen Metallkations trägt, mit Ausnahme von Polykondensaten, in denen die C=C-Doppelbindungen ausschließlich durch Methacrylester gebildet werden, die in Form einer Methylenacrylestergruppe an die über Kohlenstoff an Silicium gebundenen Gruppen angebunden sind, Komposite aus solchen Kieselsäure(hetero)polykondensaten in Kombination mit Füllstoffen sowie Polymere, die durch organische Polymerisation der C=C-Doppelbindungen in den Polykondensaten bzw. Kompositen entstanden sind. Des Weiteren betrifft die Erfindung verschiedene Möglichkeiten, die erfindungsgemäßen Kieselsäure(hetero)polykondensate herzustellen.

A stretch releasable adhesive article includes first and second opposed major surfaces and a pull tab, and at least a portion of at least one of the first and second major surfaces is adhesive. The adhesive article has a cross-sectional area - as measured normal to the axis defined by a stretch release force applied to the pull tab during the stretch release process - that has a defined width to thickness ratio, and the adhesive article may have a visible light transmission of at least about 90%, and a haze of no greater than 5%.

Polydiorganosiloxane polyoxamide, linear, block copolymers and methods of making the copolymers are provided. The method of making the copolymers involves reacting a diamine with a polydiorganosiloxane precursor having oxalylamino groups. The polydioroganosiloxane polyoxamide block copolymers are of the (AB) n type.

An adhesive article comprising a first substrate having thereon an adhesive layer, wherein the adhesive layer comprises a cured adhesive composition of a multifunctional ethylenically unsaturated siloxane polymer; and the first substrate comprises a polymer film, paper, a metal film, glass, ceramic, or a combination thereof; and wherein the adhesive layer has a microstructured surface that is substantiously continuous, and wherein the microstructured surface forms an array or pattern. The adhesive article is used to make laminated articles that spontaneously wet, and when applied to a substrate, remain removable or repositionable, even after long periods of time. The adhesive composition may be used in transfer adhesive films, and in laminated articles suitable for use in optical applications.
