Abstract:
An adhesive tape comprising (A) a backing member comprising a principal film that: (a) comprises one or more orientable polymers; and (b) has a land portion wherein the principal film is capable of thermally-induced elastic recovery; and one or more modification zones, each modification zone comprising a rim portion protruding from the first major face and surrounding a central opening; and (B) an adhesive layer comprising normally tacky, pressure sensitive adhesive. Also a method for making such tape utilizing (A) a precursor film that is capable of thermally-induced elastic recovery; and differentially heating the film to form such modification zones.
Abstract:
The self-adhesive film for masking and/or protecting surfaces, in particular those subject to high temperature operations such as painting cycles, is formed of a support having a surface covered by a self-adhesive mass of the "removable type". This support is a multilayer formed from at least two layers assembled together by means of a bonding process. These layers include a layer having one surface covered by the said self-adhesive mass and a backing layer, which are of plastics or metal materials having melting points > 150°C, such as homopolymers and copolymers of polyesters, polypropylene, polyamide and polyurethane, aluminium and its alloys.
Abstract:
The disclosed invention relates to a method of making a dry paint transfer laminate 100, comprising: extruding a paint film layer 110 over a release liner 130; and extruding a pressure sensitive adhesive layer 120 over the paint film layer 110, wherein the release liner 130 comprises: a backing liner 132 having an upper surface 133 and a lower surface 134; a first release coating layer135 overlying the upper surface 134 of the backing liner 132; the first release coating layer 135 comprising a resinous material hardened or cured to bond to the backing liner 132 and form a matte release surface spaced from the backing liner 132, the matte release surface contacting the extruded paint film layer 110; the matte release surface of the release liner 130 releasably adhered to the paint film layer 110 for transferring a matte finish to the paint film layer 110 when the release liner 130 is removed therefrom.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Provided are double-coated tapes that include, in the following order: a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer; a first plastic skin layer; an elastic base layer; a second plastic skin layer; and a second pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The provided double-coated adhesive tapes can provide a combination of high bond strength, reworkability, and high impact and shock resistance, and can be easily converted using a die cutting process.
