To provide a coating composition for a lubricating coating film capable of forming a lubricating coating film having a high level of flexibility on surfaces of various base materials. A coating composition for a lubricating coating film including: (A) a phenolic resin, (B) an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent weight of 600 to 4000, and (C) at least one type of solid lubricant; and having a weight ratio of component (A) to the total weight of component (A) and component (B) of at least 50 weight %.

A grease composition for use as a cable filling material which contains about 75 to 95 parts by weight of a base component of a liquid or semi-solid polyol having a molecular weight of at least 4000 and a reduced amount of mono-unsaturated compounds, about 1 to 15 parts by weight of a thickening agent such as colloidal particles of silica, and between 1 and 5 parts by weight of an antioxidant. Optionally, a thermoplastic elastomer can be added to improve bleed resistance.

Es wird eine Kolbenbeschichtung umfassend zumindest eine wässrige Dispersion ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Phenolharzen, Epoxidharzen, Polyvinylbutyral oder deren Kondensationsprodukten und zumindest einen Festschmierstoff ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Graphit, MoS 2 , WS 2 und BN bereitgestellt. Diese Beschichtung vermeidet den Einsatz toxischer Lösungsmittel und weist eine Verschleiβbeständigkeit und einen Reibungskoeffizienten ähnlich üblicher Beschichtungen auf.

A metal−sealable threaded joint for steel tube capable of being tightened and loosened repeatedly without applying liquid lubricant containing heavy metal powder thereon, comprising a pin and a box each having a contact surface containing a screw part and a screw−less metal contact part, wherein the contact surface of at least one of the pin and box is covered with a surface prepared layer and a lubrication film layer covered thereon, the surface prepared layer should desirably be a porous metallic layer of Hv 50 to 250 having a porosity of 5 to 80% and a thickness of 1 to 30 μm, and the lubrication film layer is formed of a solid lubrication film or a liquid lubrication film not containing substantially heavy metal powder, and the total of the thicknesses of the surface prepared layer and the lubrication film layer is 100 μm or less.

Disclosed is a method, a solution (22) and equipment for providing corrosion protection for electrical contact members (10). The contact members are exposed by means of spools (20, 23) to the solution held within a tank (21), which in one embodiment includes a phosphonate, a lubricant, and a solvent. In a preferred embodiment, the phosphonate is phosphonic acid, the lubricant is polyphenyl ether or tricresylphosphate, and the solvent includes an isoparaffinic hydrocarbon. In a further embodiment, the lubricant can be omitted from the solution.

A grease composition for use as a cable filling material which contains about 75 to 95 parts by weight of a base component of a polyol or ester having a molecular weight of at least about 3000 and about 2 to 20 parts by weight of colloidal particles such as silica. Optionally, an antioxidant component can be added to impart high temperature resistance or a rubber component can be added to improve bleed resistance. Also, an article of manufacture of a cable having a sheath with one of the grease compositions of the invention located therein, and a method for filling the cable with such grease compositions.

It has now been discovered that oligomers of C6- C20 alpha-olefins, such as 1-decene, with branch ratios below 0.19 and high viscosity indices (HVI) can be functionalized to provide unique phosphite derivatives. Functionalized polyalpha-olefin lubricants compositions are prepared with superior properties by adding functionalized organophosphites to the olefinic bond of HVI-PAO. The invention encompasses a process for the preparation of lubricant range hydrocarbons containing phosphonate functional groups, comprising; reacting olefinic C20+ polyalpha-olefin oligomers having a branch ratio of less than 0.19 and phosphite ester in a mixture with peroxide catalyst at elevated temperature whereby phosphite ester adduct of said polyalpha-olefin is formed; separating said reaction mixture products and recovering said adduct.
