Abstract:
A safety cabinet (20) for the storage of flammable or combustible materials that has doors (31 and 32) and a closure mechanism (34) designed to automatically close and latch the doors (31 and 32) in the event of fire. The closing mechanism (39) is fully automatic and eliminates mechanical timing features as well as provides an automatic positive method and structure of closing the doors (31 and 32) of the cabinet (20) to insure a complete seal and lock. Furthermore, the latching assembly (34) is operated using a handle (70) which may be rotated into a tucked position. In this position, the handle (71) rests in a cavity (74) formed within the doors (31 and 32) of the cabinet (20) for protectively shielding the latching assembly (34) to precent accidental or unauthorized opening and handle breakage.
Abstract:
An elevator door operator for positioning elevator doors (40, 42) along an arcuate pathway includes a linearly displaceable actuator (12) and a pair of linkage arms (16, 18), each pivotally connected to the other and connected to one end of the linear displaceable actuator. The linkage arms are also each pivotally connected at their opposite ends to each of two support arms (26, 24), each of which support arms are pivotally connected at one of their ends to each other and secured at their opposite ends, respectively to each of the door panels.
Abstract:
A controlled, multiple-wing passage door is used in particular person access locks. It has at least one main wing (4a, 4b) equipped with at least one folding wing (4c, 4d). The main wing (4a, 4b) is coupled so as to swivel, to the folding wing (4c, 4d), so that both wings move in different directions of rotation when they are actuated. The door (4a, 4b) formed by the main wing may be opened only into one (16) of the spaces (15, 16) which it separates, in particular outwardly. The rotation of the main wing and of the folding wing is synchronized to ensure that they reach their end positions when the folding wing is actively moved. This passage door has absolutely reliable function and operation. It may be built into any existing passages without problems and at no special cost. At the same time, it ensures a more rapid passage through the access lock.
Abstract:
Device designed to assist in opening and closing swinging window shutters consisting, on the one hand, of two telescopic tubes (1) and (2), provided with and internal spring (3) and fixed to the shutters by components (6), and, on the other hand, of a fexible link (4), also attached to the shutters. The device acts as a safety bar on account of the components (6a) or the cavities (6b) of the window bars, and of the component (41), which links the bar to the shutters.
Abstract:
A window, particularly designed to be installed in an inclined roof, comprises a top-hinged sash (9) which via a lifting arm (8) is connected with a slide shoe (10) displaceable along a guidance (11) of a lateral frame member. An intermediate member (15) is provided with a transverse pin (20) adapted to be connected with a pocket (22) in the top side of the slide shoe, and the intermediate member is loaded or biased in a direction towards the lower end of the guidance by means of a spring (13). A spacer (16) serves to hold the intermediate member ready for engagement. When the window has been installed in the roof, the appropriate pocket (22) to be engaged by the transverse pin is selected with due regard to the roof inclination, i.e. the pocket resulting in a desired opening force acting on the sash, which is then swung open until the transverse pin (20) engages the selected pocket, whereupon the sash is swung slightly in its closing direction to release the spacer for removal. The spring (13) may be inserted in the window in prestressed condition by the manufacturer and yet be prevented from exerting any opening force on the sash during handling or installation of the window.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Hinge assembly (1) for household appliances (2) having an horizontally-pivoted front door (4), and which comprises: a first coupling element (6) structured for being firmly fixed to the household appliance casing (3); a second coupling element (7) structured for being firmly fixed to the front-door body (4), and which is pivotally jointed to the first coupling element (6) so as to be able to rotate about a given articulation axis (R), between a first working position wherein the front door (4) is arranged in the raised position, and a second working position wherein the front door (4) is arranged in the completely lowered position; and a door-weight balancing device (9) which is interposed between the first (6) and the second coupling element (7) and is structured to elastically hamper rotation of the second coupling element (7) at least from the first to the second working position; the door-weight balancing device (9) in turn comprising a supporting rod (10) which extends in sliding manner through a supporting portion (11) of the first coupling element (6); a compression-preloaded elastically-deformable member (12) which is fitted to the supporting rod (10) so as to have a first end (12a) firmly fixed to the distal end (10a) of the supporting rod (10) and a second end (12b) in abutment against the supporting portion (11) of the first coupling element (6); a linking mechanism (13) which connects the proximal end (10b) of the supporting rod (10) to the second coupling element (7), so that the supporting rod (10) is axially moved to further compress the elastically-deformable member (12) when the second coupling element (7) rotates from the first to the second working position; and finally an adjustable spacer element (14) which is interposed between the second end (12b) of the elastically-deformable member (12) and the supporting portion (11) of the first coupling element (6), and it is structured so to allow a manually-operated adjustment, between a lower value and a higher value, of the distance (h) between the second end (12b) of the elastically-deformable member (12) and the supporting portion (11) of the first coupling element (6), thus varying the compression preload of the elastically-deformable member (12) fitted on the supporting rod (10).
