Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Stromtankstelle, umfassend die folgenden Schritte: - Aufbauen einer Kommunikationsverbindung zwischen der Stromtankstelle und einem Elektrofahrzeug, - Überprüfen über die Kommunikationsverbindung, ob eine auf einer Verarbeitungseinrichtung des Elektrofahrzeugs gespeicherte Software aktualisiert werden muss, - abhängig von dem Überprüfen Senden von Aktualisierungsdaten zum Aktualisieren der Software über die Kommunikationsverbindung an das Elektrofahrzeug mittels der Stromtankstelle, so dass die Software basierend auf den Aktualisierungsdaten aktualisiert werden kann. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner eine Stromtankstelle, ein Elektrofahrzeug und ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Elektrofahrzeugs sowie ein Computerprogramm.
