Abstract:
In example embodiments, a system and method for international dialing through a relay is provided. A call is received from a device of a caller to a pool number. An identifier of the caller is identified from the call. A pool string is determined from the pool number whereby the pool string having one or more digits of the pool number. A destination string is identified to which a combination of the identifier of the caller and the pool string maps in a database whereby the destination string by itself is insufficient to obtain a destination number. The destination number is constructed using the destination substring and one or more digit keys associated with the call. The call is forwarded to the destination number.
Abstract:
In example embodiments, a system and method for international dialing through call connections is provided. An indication of an initiation of a call by a first user to a second user is received. A first pool number is provided to the first user, whereby the first pool number is different from a phone number of the second user. A message is transmitted to the second user that triggers the second user device to automatically initiate a second call to a second pool number, whereby the second pool number is different from a phone number of the first user. A first call via the first pool number and the second call via the second pool number are received. Based on a call parameter, a determination is made to connect the first call and the second call, and the first call is connected to the second call.
Abstract:
A telecommunications addressing system/method allowing selection of a telephone instrument device (TID) using arbitrary identifiers is disclosed. The system/method allows a source TID (STD) to select a target TID (TTD) by the use of a Target Telephone Identifier (TTI) data string rather than a traditional numeric telephone identification (NTI). This TTI is then indexed within a TTI/NTI mapping server (TMS) that functions as a hierarchical repository of TTI/NTI mappings. STD/TTD communication is established by first performing a lookup of the STD-selected TTI within the TMS to identify the NTI of the TTD. Once the NTI of the STD has been identified by the TMS, communication between the STD and TTD is established using the NTI via the normal public switched telephone network (PSTN). TMS TTI lookup may be performed via STD TID web application and/or via PSTN infrastructure interface.
Abstract:
Method of monitoring a portable device comprising initiating a telephone call by a surveillant, authenticating the surveillant by a telephone switch, and connecting the telephone call by the telephone switch.
Abstract:
A virtual private network charging method and system. The method involves receiving charging request sent by calling access control net element. The charging request is composed of VPN information and charging information of a calling user and/or a called user. If the user account has enough balance or the user account has no enough balance while the user's credit meets the demand, then informing the calling access control net element to continue calling process, and corresponding charge is deduct or recorded from user account's balance in real time according to the received VPN information and the charging information.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a voice mail platform (VM), being associated with a plurality of associated telephones (T4 - T7). The voice mail platform (VM) comprising a processor unit (PU) that has access to a memory (ME) comprising voice mail settings of the plurality of associated telephones (T4 - T7), the voice mail settings comprising a welcome message. The voice mail platform (VM) further comprising an input output device (I/O) arranged to communicate with telephones (Tl - T7) via a network (NW). The voice mail platform (VM) is arranged to receive a voice mail update (VMU) to change the voice mail settings of a group of the associated telephones (T4 - T7) and to change the voice mail settings in the memory (ME) of the group of associated telephones (T4 - T7).
