A video presentation device is disclosed. The video presentation device comprises an electronic module including a microcontroller and a memory adapted for storing digital content, a communication link adapted to communicatively couple the electronic module with a host server, to receive multimedia digital content from the host server upon command from the host server, and a video display for playing the multimedia digital content upon command of the electronic module.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for presenting targeted digital on-screen graphics are described. A content originator, such as an advertiser or media network operator, may specify targeted segments and/or targeted digital on-screen graphics to be presented to one or more viewers of an available audience. The expected presentation of a digital on-screen graphic on a content presentation device associated with targeted segments may be detected. A target digital on-screen graphic may be transmitted or otherwise made available to the content presentation device. The targeted digital on-screen graphic may be displayed instead of or overlaying at least a portion of the original digital on-screen graphic, such that all or a portion of the original digital on-screen graphic is substituted by the target digital on-screen graphic.

An example method includes receiving a media identifier and an impression identifier from a device, the media identifier being indicative of media presented at the device; receiving the impression identifier in association with first user information from a first database proprietor as a result of the first database proprietor obtaining a first identifier sent from the device, the first identifier identifying at least one of the device or a user; receiving the impression identifier in association with second user information from a second database proprietor as a result of the second database proprietor obtaining a second identifier sent from the device, the second identifier identifying at least one of the device or the user; identifying the first and second user information as associated with a same user based on the impression identifier; and associating the first and second user information with the media identifier.

Disclosed herein a user device. The user device comprises a network interface for connecting to an internet. The user device comprises a processor configured to execute a client application having a user interface. The client application is configured to detect a media device which is capable of communicating with the user device via a local connection; said local connection is not over the internet. The client is configured to cause the detected media device to display a pairing code - the causation being effected via said local connection - and to present, via the user interface, an option to input the displayed code. The client is configured to transmit the inputted code to the internet to establish a pairing relationship with the media device. The established pairing relationship enables interaction between the user device and the media device. A corresponding method, computer program product and media device are also disclosed.

A method for automated transfer of the unique ID of a consumer electronics device (CED) is disclosed. The method includes initiating registration of the CED with an external entity. The CED does not have ability to complete the registration with the external entity by itself. A unique identification for the CED is obtained and provided to the external entity in order to complete the registration of the CED. Registration of the CED is initiated by executing a registration program. The unique identification is obtained using a universal plug and play (UPnP) service that includes requesting the universal identification from the CED and receiving the universal identification from the CED. The unique identification is provided to the external entity by inserting it in an associated field provided as part of registration process. Apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed.

A method, apparatus and system for enabling the recall of content for subsequent review include communicating to a content provider an indication of interest in content displayed in proximity to a mobile communications device, wherein communication information of the mobile communications device is determined using information in the communicated indication of interest, in response to the communicated indication of interest, receiving at least one of the content of interest, content data of the content of interest and location information of the content of interest and storing the at least one of the content of interest, content data of the content of interest and location information of the content of interest in the mobile communications device.

An intelligent television and methods for user interaction between the intelligent television and the user are provided. In general, a user is provided with navigation, notification, and setup options which enable one or more functions associated with the intelligent television. The presentation of options is based on input received by the intelligent television. As a user provides input to the intelligent television via a remote control or other input device, the intelligent television is configured to interpret the input and provide interactive functionality in the form of content presented to the display of the intelligent television.
