A normally open non-electric valve includes a flow path through an apertured valve seat. A cavity isolated from the flow path is sealingly closed off adjacent the valve seat by a flexible diaphragm. The diaphragm is sufficiently flexible to be pushed and held away from the valve seat by fluid flowing in the flow path. When it is desired to close the valve, a pressure medium is introduced into the cavity so as to force the diaphragm against the valve seat and interrupt the fluid flow in the flow path. The normally open valve can inexpensively be converted from an inexpensive electric solenoid valve by removing the plunger, spring and coil from the electric valve, closing off the plunger cavity with a flexible diaphragm, and selectably introducing a pressure medium into the cavity when it is desired to close the valve.

Beidseits sind hintereinander angeordnet den Arbeitsanschlüssen (A, B) zugeordete Ringkanäle (23, 24), Pumpendruck-Ringkanäle (25, 26), Load-Sensing-Ringkanäle (28, 29) und Endraum-Ringkanäle (21, 22). A reciprocating pulser system for generating pressure fluctuations in a flowing drilling fluid comprising a reciprocating poppet and a stationary valve assembly with axial flow passages. The poppet reciprocates in close proximity to the valve assembly, at least partially blocking the flow through the valve assembly and generating oscillating pressure pulses. The poppet passes through two zero speed positions during each cycle, enabling rapid changes in signal phase, frequency, and/or amplitude thereby facilitating enhanced data encoding. The poppet is driven by a linear electric motor disposed in a lubricant filled housing. In one embodiment, the housing to shaft seal is a flexible bellows. In one embodiment, a force balance spring is used to essentially offset the hydraulic flow forces on the poppet. In one embodiment, a bypass poppet is used to adjust the differential pressure across the valve assembly.

A system and a method for integrating gas components that combines together, either in an in-line or modular fashion, at least two gas components used in a gas stick for flowing a gas from a first point to an end point. In one embodiment, the present invention can be used to combine a pressure transducer, a filter, and a display into a single unit that will reduce the gas stick size along the gas flow axis of the gas stick. The gas components can be integrated using VCR connections for an in-line use of the present invention. In the modular form, the present invention can use a number of different connections to connect the gas components vertically on a modular base block (i.e., stacked approximately perpendicular to the modular base block). Thus, the gas components will stack vertically with respect to the traditional horizontal gas flow path axis.

A steam system is provided with a steam trap including a Y-fitting having a single fluid inlet (12), a primary outlet (14) for returning water to a boiler, and a secondary outlet (16) for testing only, and a main valve (26) in series with the primary outlet. Connected to the secondary outlet are an auxiliary valve (50) and a replaceable test jet (56) downstream of the auxiliary valve (50), the test jet (56) terminating the auxiliary branch. Test jets (56) of various sizes may be installed, and outflow through each visually observed or measured, until optimum size is arrived at.
