摘要: A method of forming a chopped strand mat formed of bonding materials and wet use chopped strand glass fibers (WUCS) which demonstrate a reduced occurrence of static electricity is provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the occurrence of static electricity on the glass fibers is reduced or eliminated by increasing the total solids content on the glass fibers, such as by applying an increased or excess amount of size composition to the glass fibers. Alternatively, an anti-static agent may be added directly to the sizing composition and applied to the glass filaments by any suitable application device. The antistatic agent may be applied to the wet chopped strand glass prior to chopping the strands or as the wet chopped strands are packaged. The static free wet use chopped strand glass fibers may be used in dry-laid processes to form chopped strand mats having a reduced tendency to accumulate static electricity.

摘要: A non-woven mat useful for a wide variety of purposes, including forming reinforced resin products, is produced in a manner having different specific uses of, and advantages over, conventional chopped strand mats and conventional glass tissue. The mat is preferably made by the foam process (but may be made by the liquid process), and at speeds well in excess of 60 m./min., and has a substantially uniform construction even when low density (e.g. 100 g/m or less). At least 20 % (preferably at least 85 %) of the fibers are in fiber bundles with between 5-450 fibers/bundle. The fibers (typically at least 85 %) have a length between 5-100 mm, preferably 7-50 mm, substantially the same as the length of the fiber bundle they are in. The fibers are preferably held in the bundles by substantially non-water soluble sizing, such as epoxy resin or PVOH. The fibers in the bundles typically have diameters of approximately 7-500 microns, preferably about 7-35 microns. The bundles may comprise at least 10 % reinforcing fibers, such as glass, aramid or acrylic.

摘要: This invention provides a three-dimensional (3D) multifunctional knitted fabric structure comprising two independent layers (1 and 3) connected by cross-threads (2) being able to be applied as absorbency structure in medium incontinence men´s reusable underwear. The structure is produced in a single step using weft-knitting technology and designed to perform several functions in a single fabric. The inner layer (1), to be in contact with human body, is responsible to transport liquid, urine and perspiration from the human body to the outer layer (3), through the cross-threads (2), keeping dry the human skin. Cross-threads (2) are responsible to keep apart both independent layers and to transport liquid from the inner layer (1) to the outer layer (2). The outer layer (3) is responsible to absorb the liquid and, at same time, to control the odor and microorganisms proliferation generated by the urine. The outer layer (3) is coated or laminated (4) with a moisture control polyurethane in order to prevent liquid passage to the user paints and at same time to provide vapor transmission.
