Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for providing call flow information to devices associated with call flow destinations are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method for providing call flow information to a terminal device comprises receiving a communication specifying an initial destination from a calling party, and at least one of assigning the received communication to a terminal device associated with the initial destination and an alternate destination, forwarding the received communication from a terminal device associated with the initial destination to a terminal device associated with the alternate destination, or re-assigning the received communication to a terminal device associated with the alternate destination rather than with the initial destination responsive to a call set up failure. A call flow indicator is generated and transmitted to the terminal device associated with the alternate destination, the call flow indicator including an identifier of the initial destination and an identifier of the alternate destination.
Abstract:
Methods, devices, and systems enable a server to route a communication from a calling party to a third-party device when a called party is unreachable by obtaining current status data from a plurality of devices registered with the server, and generating a list of potential third-party devices based at least on the obtained current status data. A call request notification may be transmitted to a third-party device selected from the list. In response to receiving a call acceptance message, the server may transmit an authentication challenge for the called party. The server may determine whether an authentication response message includes a correct response to the authentication challenge, and if so, administer the communication between a calling party device and the selected third-party device. The server may calculate charges to the calling party or called party and credits for the third-party whose device accepts the communication for the called party.
Abstract:
The present invention is basically related to a system (1) and methods (100, 200) for increasing the call completion rate for the calls which would be unsuccessful due to a variety of reasons, by using CAMEL (Customized Applications for Mobile networks Enhanced Logic) based retry mechanism. The said system (1) comprises mobile station (2), MSC (3) and SCP (4).
Abstract:
An IP telephony service allows customers to form user groups. Each user group can include multiple telephony devices that are associated with one or more users. One or more group identifiers would be associated with each user group. When an incoming communication is directed to a user group, a group identifier is used to retrieve a list of the members of the group, or a list of devices that correspond to the members of the user group. The communication is then sent to one or more members of the group, or to one or more of the devices that correspond to members of the user group. Handling preferences may determine how the incoming communication is delivered. In some instances, the incoming communication could be a telephone call. In other instances, the incoming communication could be a SMS message or an instant message.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Telecommunications switches for connecting circuits across a network and having an emergency notification system that allows access to customer premise equipment, such as a telephone, mobile telephone, VOIP telephone, or any other type of customer premise equipment, and delivers to that CPE an alarm or another message. The telecommunication switch may include a dial plan server that will allow a security officer or other user to develop a dialing plan that controls telecommunication switch such that identification numbers, typically telephone numbers, can be dialed by the switch to call CPE throughout the telecommunication network. Additionally, the dialing plan allows the security officer to divide and organize an institution into different sectors, and these different sectors may be delivered different messages. The sectors may be geographic, they may be organized based on the classification of individuals within the institution, or they may be based on some other characteristic.
Abstract:
The present invention provides systems, methods, and apparatus for semi-stateless scalable and distributed management of telephone hunt group features in a PBX. In particular, the invention conducts an auction-like phone call handling process in which phone handling decisions are partially delegated from a central resource to the individual client agents. Briefly, phone handling functions offer available call to agents who then decide which available calls to handle. This auction-like process is preferably implemented using broadcast (or multicast) messaging features so that system components do not need to know or access global state information. Messaging is preferably built on a selected instant messaging protocol.
Abstract:
Modular internet telephony feature servers (702) allow individual users to manage internet telephone calls. Modular internet telephony feature servers (702) may be used in a hierarchical internet telephony system in which a higher tier internet telephony feature server forwards telephone calls to one or more lower tier internet telephony feature servers (704), and each lower tier internet telephony feature server (704) is configurable separately from the higher tier internet telephony feature server (702) and from other lower tier internet telephony feature servers (704) to direct telephone calls received from the higher tier internet telephony feature server (102).
Abstract:
A method and system is disclosed for receiving calls by a network device and determining whether the incoming call is a candidate for being simultaneously or sequentially routed to a plurality of pre-determined destinations. Call legs are originated to the plurality of routed destinations in order to locate an answering station. If any of the simultaneously or sequentially routed stations answers, the call is completed to the first answering station and the other legs are disconnected. This simultaneous or sequential operation is compatible with any type of communication device such as gateways, TDM switches, soft-switches, mobile switches, SIP enabled networks, etc.
