100 parts by weight of a resin composition composed of 1 to 99% by weight of a polypropylene type resin (C) selected from the group consisting of a modified polypropylene (A) obtained by graft copolymerizing an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof and an unsaturated aroamtic monomer onto polypropylene, and a composition composed of the modified polypropylene (A) and a polypropylene (B), and 99 to 1% by weight of at least one sturated polyester resin (D), 0.1 to 300 parts by weiht of an epoxy group containing copolymer (E), 0.1 to 300 parts by weight of a modified ethylenic copolymer ruber (F) obtained by graft copolymerizing and an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof and an unsaturated aromatic monomer onto ethylenic copolymer ruber, and Up to 5 partsg by weight of a basic comdpound (G) optionally added as reaction accelerator, the content of the saturted polyester resin in the thermoplastic polyeste4r resin being less than 50% by weight.
The thermoplastic resin composition of the present invention has high heat resistance and high impact resistance. in particular, high low-temperatuer impact resistance and is advantgeously used in automobilde parts, electric and electronic parts, etc.

A polypropylene resin composition comprises (A) (a-1) a specific crystalline propylene/ethylene block copolymer or (a-3) a polymer mixture comprising the (a-1) and (a-2) a specific crystalline propylene homopolymer in specific ratio, in an amount of 5 to 56% by weight, (B) a hydroxyl group-containing polypropylene having an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 0.8 to 2.0 dl/g and a melting point of 150 to 168°C, in an amount of 10 to 45% by weight, (C) a copolymer rubber of ethylene and an α-olefin having a melt flow rate (ASTM D-1238, 230°C, load of 2160 g) of 0.5 to 15 g/10 min, in an amount of 18 to 25% by weight, (D) a hydrogenation product of a block copolymer containing a polymer block of a monovinyl-substituted aromatic hydrocarbon compound and a polymer block of a conjugated diene compound, in an amount of 1 to 10% by weight, and (E) an inorganic filler in an amount of 15 to 25% by weight, the total amount of said components (A), (B), (C), (D) and (E) being 100% by weight, hydroxyl group-containing monomer units derived from the hydroxyl group-containing polypropylene (B) being contained in amounts of 1.3 to 4.0% by weight in 100% by weight of the polypropylene resin composition. The polypropylene resin composition exhibits excellent coating adhesion properties and has excellent processability and mechanical strength with a good balance.

A modified copolymer rubber obtained by kneading at 200-280°C (A) at least one copolymer rubber material selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer rubber having a number-average molecular weight of 10,000-100,000 and an ethylene content of 15-85% by weight and an ethylene-α-olefin-nonconjugated diene copolymer rubber having a number-average molecular weight of 10,000-100,000, an ethylene content of 15-85% by weight and a nonconjugated diene content of 3.0% by weight or less, (B) a free-radical initiator, (C) at least one vinyl aromatic monomer and (D) an unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride, the bound vinyl aromatic monomer content and the bound unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride content in the modified copolymer rubber being 0.1-5% by weight and 0.1-5% by weight, respectively, based on the weight of the copolymer rubber material and a process for producing the same are disclosed. This modified copolymer rubber obtained has so excellent properties such as a high bound unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride content, a low gel formation property, a low tendency of increase of the Mooney viscosity [ML 1+4 (121°C)], and an excellent moldability and storage stability that it can be suitably used for thermoplastic elastomer, blending polymer, adhesive etc.
