Abstract:
Disclosed are water soluble polymeric reagents comprising the structure POLY-[Y-S-W]x,, where POLY is a water soluble polymer; Y is a hydrocarbonbased spacer group, x is 1 to 25, and S-W is a thiol, protected thiol, or thiol-reactive derivative. Preferably, the water soluble polymer is a PEG polymer. Also disclosed are conjugates of such polymeric reagents with pharmaceutically relevant molecules, and methods of their formation and use.
Abstract:

The present invention provides organophotoreceptors comprising an electrically conductive substrate and a photoconductive element on the electrically conductive substrate, the photoconductive element comprising:
(a) a charge transport material having the formula where X comprises a linking group; R 1 and R 1 ' comprise, each independently, H, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aromatic group, or a heterocyclic group; and R 2 , R 3 , R 2 ', and R 3 ' comprise, each independently, an arylamine group; and (b) a charge generating compound.
Corresponding electrophotographic apparatuses, imaging methods (processes), and methods of forming the charge transport material are described, as are charge transport materials.
Abstract:
A method of preparing a sulfur-containing compound having at least one thio group in the molecules by reacting a thiol compound with an organic compound having at least one functional group capable of forming a thio group in the molecules upon reacting with a mercapto group in the presence of a basic compound, wherein the number of moles of water contained in the reaction system is set to be not larger than 7.5 times as large as the number of moles obtained by multiplying the number of moles of the thiol compound to be reacted by a number of mercapto groups present in one molecule of the thiol compound.
