Thereby, it is possible to stably apply a desired lifting force for reducing the weight to be borne by the user with his/her legs to the user.

A data transmitter-receiver 30 arranged on a ring network to form a node includes a normal-direction data transmit/receive unit 19, a reverse-direction data transmit/receive unit 20, a buffer control unit 13, a controller 14, and connectors 11, 12. The normal-direction data transmit/receive unit 19 includes a received signal demodulator 7, an input buffer 3, an output buffer 1, an intermediate buffer 2, a sending signal modulator 8, and data buses 15, 16. The reverse-direction data transmit/receive unit 20 has the same construction as the normal-direction data transmit/receive unit 19. Two-way data transmission and verification of transmitted data in each node serves to locate a failure, and the buffer control unit 13 selectively activates or deactivates the buffers to compensate the failure. Thus, adequate detection, accurate location, proper compensation of a failure can be achieved in a relatively low-cost network system so that the communication functionality of the whole system can be maintained.

The exhaust gas processing device includes a reservoir in which purged hydrogen gas from the fuel cell is retained and mixed with cathode exhaust gas from the fuel cell, and an agitating gas introduction inlet provided at an upper part of the reservoir. The purged hydrogen gas is mixed with and diluted by agitating gas introduced from the agitating gas introduction inlet.

A guide plate is provided on the front of the housing formed by the base plate and the housing cover. A control unit is fitted to the rear. When the lid is opened and battery is inserted from the front into housing cover and guided and supported by the guide plate, the battery simultaneously connects with the discharge connector at the side of control unit.

Deposition of a hard film of Ti-Si-N composite material on a substrate is carried out by using a source of evaporation possessing a composition of Ti a Si b (wherein "a" and "b" stand for atomic percentages respectively falling in the ranges of 75 at% ≦ a ≦ 85 at% and 15 at% ≦ b ≦ 25 at%, providing a + b = 100 at% ). Deposition is effected by a sputtering process or ion plating process in an atmosphere of an inert gas containing a nitrogen-containing reaction gas while controlling the feed rate of the reaction gas into a chamber in such a manner that the partial pressure of nitrogen is kept constant or varied continuously or stepwise. By this method, there can be obtained a film having fine TiN crystalline particles uniformly dispersed in the matrix phase of Ti-Si amorphous metal or a film of functionally gradient structure in which the ratio of fine TiN crystalline particles dispersed in the matrix phase increases continuously or stepwise in the direction of thickness of the film.
