Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide a method for producing a sugar liquid by repeating a sugar liquid production process comprising the Steps (1) to (3) below: (1) the step of adding a filamentous fungus-derived cellulase to cellulose to perform primary hydrolysis; (2) the step of adding a fresh filamentous fungus-derived cellulase to the hydrolysate in Step (1) to perform secondary hydrolysis; and (3) the step of subjecting the hydrolysate in Step (2) to solid-liquid separation to obtain a sugar liquid, from which a recovered enzyme is obtained; wherein the recovered enzyme obtained in Step (3) is used for Step (1) of the next and later sugar liquid production processes. By this, the present invention provides a method for reducing the amount of enzyme used, such as cellulase, in a method for producing a sugar liquid from pretreated cellulose.
Abstract:
A method for selective production of µ-caprolactam, wherein a substance inducible from a biomass resource is used as a material; the reaction process is short; ammonium sulfate is not produced as a by-product; and production of by-products is suppressed; is disclosed. The method for producing µ-caprolactam comprises the step of reacting a particular compound inducible from a biomass resource, such as ±-hydromuconic acid, 3-hydroxyadipic acid, or 3-hydroxyadipic acid-3,6-lactone, or a salt thereof with hydrogen or ammonia.
Abstract:
A method for producing 2,3-butanediol by microbial fermentation utilizing a biologically safe microorganism is disclosed. The method for producing 2,3-butanediol includes the steps of: culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Zymobacter in a fermentation feedstock containing a carbon source (Step A); and purifying 2,3-butanediol from culture liquid obtained in this step (Step B). This method in which the carbon source contains pentose, and the microorganism belonging to the genus Zymobacter has a capacity to metabolize pentose, is also disclosed.
Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide a method for producing a chemical product with a high yield using a mixed sugar of hexose and pentose as a fermentation feedstock. [MEANS FOR SOLUTION] A method for producing a chemical product by continuous fermentation, which method comprises filtering a culture liquid of a microorganism(s) through a separation membrane; retaining unfiltered liquid in, or refluxing unfiltered liquid to, the culture liquid; adding a fermentation feedstock to the culture liquid; and recovering a product in the filtrate, wherein the fermentation feedstock contains pentose and hexose, and wherein the microorganism(s) is/are a microorganism(s) having a pathway in which pentose reductase and pentol dehydrogenase are used to metabolize pentose, was provided.
