Die Erfindung betrifft eine Geschwindigkeitsregelanlage in einem Kraftfahrzeug mit einem von einem Fahrer an einem Sollwertgeber einstellbaren Geschwindigkeitssollwert. Erfindungsgemäß wird während des Fahrbetriebs mit aktivierter, auf einen am Sollwertgeber auf einen Geschwindigkeitssollwert (S1) eingestellter Geschwindigkeitsregelanlage (GRA) zudem eine zulässige Höchstgeschwindigkeit selbsttätig erfasst und diese Höchstgeschwindigkeit wird dem Fahrer als Empfehlung zur direkten Übernahme als neuer Geschwindigkeitssollwert (S2) mitgeteilt.
