A driver assisting system 6 for a vehicle 5 is provided. The system 6 comprises a processing means 7 and a display means 9, the display means 9 being adapted to display information on a screen 10 of a vehicle 5 hosting the system 6. The screen 10 further being adapted to show the environment in front of the vehicle 5, and/or a representation of the environment in front of the vehicle 5. The vehicle 5 extends in a longitudinal direction 1 and a lateral direction 3, and wherein the longitudinal direction 1 corresponds to the intended direction of travel of the vehicle 5. The processing means 7 is adapted to receive a first input data signal 11 indicative of a velocity of the vehicle 5 hosting the system 6, and a second input data signal 12 indicative of an actual performed and/or on-going and/or impending lateral position change of the vehicle 5 hosting the system 6. The processing means 7 further being adapted to process at least the first and the second input data signals 11, 12 to thereby calculate an estimated vehicle path 17 of the vehicle 5 hosting the system 6, and the display means 10 being adapted to display the estimated vehicle path 17 on the screen 9. The display 152, 810, 820 may also include an indicator 850 of the position of a lane 836 (autodrive or not) currently occupied by the vehicle. In addition, if that lane is an autodrive lane the display 1010 may include information 1060 indicating how much further the vehicle may continue in the autonomous driving mode in that particular lane.
