Disclosed herein is a manufacturing method of a planar resistance heating element and a planar resistance heating element made using the method. In the manufacturing method of a planar resistance heating element by etching an aluminum foil deposited on an insulating substrate in a desired pattern, printing carbon paste and connecting current input terminals in parallel, the aluminum foil is adapted to under go a multiple step tempering process to thereby prevent heat deformation. The carbon paste acting as a resistor element is made of electricallyconductivecarbon,graphite,a resin,asolvent and a hardener which are mixed so as to optimize physical properties of the carbon paste. As a result, prevention of heat deformation of the insulating substrate, uniform heat conductivity, excellent heat-generation effect and easy manufacture may be achieved. In addition, the use of the carbon paste having optimized physical properties as a resistor element results in good heat-generation and near-zero temperature variation.

A method of manufacturing an inexpensive fine resistor which eliminates the need for dimensional classifications of substrates is disclosed. The method eliminates a step of replacing a mask according to the dimensional rank of the substrate. The method comprises: forming a plurality of pairs of top electrode layers and a plurality of resistor layers on a top face of an insulated substrate sheet, said top electrode layers and said resistor layers being electrically coupled; applying trimming for adjusting a resistance in said resistor layers between said plurality of pairs of top electrode layers; forming a protective layer for covering at least said plurality of resistor layers; forming a plurality of first slit dividing portions for dividing said insulated substrate sheet into a plurality of substrate strips; disposing a mask on a rear face of said insulated substrate sheet; forming a plurality of pairs of side electrode layers by sputtering on a rear face of the insulated substrate sheet and an inner face of said plurality of first slit dividing portions while said mask being disposed; removing said mask from the rear face of said insulated substrate sheet after forming said side electrode layers; and forming a plurality of second dividing portions perpendicular to said first slit dividing portions for dividing the insulated substrate sheet into discrete substrates by separating said plurality of resistor layers to individual resistor layers.

More layers may be created by repeating this process using additional electophoretic cell(s), until remaining portion of the volume of the via-hole(s) (3) is filled with the additional charged particles.

In einem zweiten Verfahrensschritt wird ein vom Aussenrand (9) begrenzter und bis auf die Strinfläche des Widerstandkörpers (1) geführter Kreisring (4) mit einer Breite von ca. 10 bis 500 µm aus der Elektrode enffernt oder der Widerstandskörper (1) und Elektrode am Aussenrand abgeschrägt (5'). Das Verfahren ermöglicht eine einfache und wirtschaftliche Fertigung eines Varistors.
