The present invention relates to a improved process for the biotechnological production of compounds for which ribose-5-phosphate, ribulose-5-phosphate or xylulose-5-phosphate is biosynthetic precursor like riboflavin (vitamin B2), FAD, FMN, pyridoxal phosphate (vitamin B6), guanosine, GMP, adenosine, AMP. The invention further pertains to the generation of the organism producing those compounds. It furthermore relates to the generation of mutated transketolases that allow normal growth on glucose but reduced growth on gluconate when introduced into the production strains and to polynucleotides encoding them.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein iodinin is largely interested in an antibiotic field because the iodinin can be converted into myxin of an antibiotic material valuable as a medicament, and a large effort is spent for development of a proper method for producing the iodinin. SOLUTION: The new species of genus Acrocarpospora producing the iodinin is provided. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce piperidine derivatives, 4-(4-(4-(hydroxydiphenyl)-1-piperidinyl)-1-hydroxybutyl)-α,α-dimethylphenylacetic acid and 4-[4-[4-(diphenylmethoxy)-1-piperidinyl]-oxobutyl]-α,α-dimethylphenyl acetic acid with a microbial catalyst.
