    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:A bacteriolytic enzyme.
    USE: An antibacterial agent and natural antiseptic agent. It has broader bacteriolytic spectrum than albumen lysozyme, is effective to almost all Gram-positive bacteria including lactic bacteria, and is active even in a lowly acidic range.
    PREPARATION: A bacterial strain belonging to Polyshondylium genus e.g. Polyshondylium pallidum (FERM BP-633), Polyshondylium violaceum (FERM BP-632), etc.] is cultured in an ordinary liquid medium containing a carbon source, a nitrogen source, inorganic salts, etc., preferably at 5.5W7.0pH and 20W30°C usually for 2W4 days to effect the production and accumulation of the objective enzyme in the culture liquid and the bacterial cell.

    Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:The peroxidase having the following characteristics. Optimum pH, 5W7; optimum temperature, 30W40°C; stable at 5W10pH; stable at ≤50°C; molecular weight, about 36,000 by SDS-polyacrylamide electrophoresis (using ampholine); isoelectric point, about 3.4pH by isoelectric fractionation; free from isozyme.
    USE: An oxidizing enzyme active in the presence of hydrogen peroxide.
    PREPARATION: Arthromyces ramosus (FERM P-7754) which is a microbial strain separated from soil is cultured, and the objective peroxidase is separated from the culture product. The microbial strain belongs to Deuteromycotina subdivition, Hyphomycetes class, and is characterized by colorlessness, septum, branches, etc.
