PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing the generation of spotted paddy rice caused by stink bugs, capable of preventing a worker from being exposed to chemical agents and reducing chemical load to the environment and excellent in workability. SOLUTION: This method for suppressing the generation of spotted paddy rice caused by stink bugs comprises applying to the water surface of a paddy field a composition containing at least one compound having penetrating and migrating properties and expressing an inhibitory effect on sapping of stink bugs. In the method, the compound is a nitromethylene-based insecticide, a nitroimino-based insecticide, a cyanoimino-based insecticide or an insecticide having phenylpyrazole skeleton.
