Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicular internal combustion engine optimizing overlap quantity control in an internal combustion engine equipped with a variable valve timing mechanism. SOLUTION: When the engine is gets in idling operation state, this device waits for stop of a vehicle. When the vehicle stops, the device sets overlap quantity of an intake valve and an exhaust valve small. Consequently, vibration of the engine in the vehicle stop state is reduced. Even if the engine is in idling operation, the overlap quantity is set greater than that in normal control if the vehicle is travelling. Consequently, engine load is increased by accelerator step-in action of a driver during vehicle travel or the like, and the overlap quantity is appropriately provided in a state where engine speed rises. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool recirculation gas flowing in an exhaust gas recirculation device while suppressing an increase in cost. SOLUTION: This recirculation gas cooling device is provided in the exhaust gas recirculation device recirculating a part of exhaust gas in an engine again to the intake pipe of the engine by opening an EGR valve. The cooling device includes: EGR pipes 562, 564 connecting the exhaust pipe and intake pipe of the engine; and a radiator 550 composed of a plurality of cooling water pipes 552 in which cooling water circulating inside of the engine flows, and fins 554 abutting on the adjacent cooling water pipes 552 of the plurality of cooling water pipes 552. The EGR pipes 562, 564 are so formed that recirculation gas circulates by being brought into contact with a part of at least either the fin 554 or the cooling water pipe 552. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output state detector, detecting the output state of an internal combustion engine in a vehicle having an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. SOLUTION: This output state detector of an internal combustion engine detects reaction torque of a generator 3, and detects the output state of the internal combustion engine 1 from the reaction torque. The detector includes: the internal combustion engine 1; the generator driven by the internal combustion engine to generate power; torque detection means 9, 12, 23 for detecting the reaction torque of the generator 3; and output state detection means for detecting the output state of the internal combustion engine 1. The output state detection means 10, 11 detect the output state of the internal combustion engine 1 on the basis of reaction torque of the generator 3 detected by the torque detection means 9, 12, 23. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the execution of low-reliable control and control at an inappropriate period in an internal combustion engine which is under an unusual temperature environment by the restriction of cooling water distribution.SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine (1) has a water temperature sensor (92) for detecting the temperature of cooling water, and an electric water pump (56). An electronic control device (91) stops the drive of the water pump (56) when the temperature of the cooling water is lower than a reference temperature. Alternatively, the electronic control device (91) drives the water pump (56) based on the temperature of the cooling water when the temperature is higher than the reference one. When the drive of the water pump (56) is stopped, the internal combustion engine (1) prohibits at least one of engine control until the drive stopping of the water pump (56) is released, and subsequently keeps prohibition until the temperature of the cooling water converges at the predetermined value and shifts to a balanced state.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for vehicle without release shocks, caused by the release operation of a power transmission's opening and closing device which is disposed in between a motor and driving wheels during cruising. SOLUTION: In a hybrid control apparatus 10 of a vehicle, since a second clutch C2 is made to release, when the input torque to the second clutch (power transmission opening/closing device) C2 becomes zero by a release means 108, if release condition is determined as being established by a release condition establishment determining means 100 release shock is suitably suppressed in the cruising vehicle, without the changes in the driving torque of the vehicle caused by the release of the second clutch C2 in the vehicle which is under coasting cruise. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly perform idle learning of an internal combustion engine while being disconnected from a drive shaft on the subsequent stage side in a device for connecting the output shaft of the internal combustion engine through a device for performing an operating action and a device having a clutch function disconnecting it from the drive shaft on the subsequent stage side. SOLUTION: The idle learning of the engine is prohibited when a shift position SP is at N and motors MG1, MG2 are not steadily driven (S230). The idle learning of the engine is permitted when the shift position SP is not at N or the motors MG1, MG2 are steadily driven though the shift position SP is at N (S240). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit drop of cooling capacity of a cooling means by stopping exhaust gas supply when cooling capacity of the cooling means is at most a predetermined capacity. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine device controls an EGR valve not to supply exhaust gas to an intake side (S120, S160), if it is judged based on cooling water temperature Tw and ambient temperature Tout that cooling capacity of a cooling system is at most a predetermined capacity with which minimum capacity necessary to cool the engine can be secured even during execution of EGR (S130) when EGR execution conditions are met in operation of an engine (S110). Consequently, drop of cooling capacity of the cooling system can be inhibited. The EGR valve is controlled to supply exhaust gas to an intake side with keeping target EGR quantity R* calculated based on intake air quantity Qa (S140-S160) if it is judged that cooling capacity of the cooling system is the predetermined capacity or greater (S130). Consequently, the engine can be operated more appropriately thereby. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a shift of an ETC travel mode that allows traveling by actuating both an engine and a motor generator by engaging a clutch C2 and releasing C1 to a motor travel mode that allows traveling by actuating only the motor generator by engaging the clutch C1 and releasing C2. SOLUTION: When a state that a brake switch 92 is in an ON state (during braking) with a vehicle speed being zero is continued exceeding a prescribed time, and when the amount of charge SOC of a battery 42 is at a prescribed value SOC2 or more, an unnecessary operation of the engine 14 is prevented while avoiding the occurrence of a shock and the degradation of responsiveness by shifting the ETC travel mode to the motor travel mode, thus improving fuel economy.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel nature determination apparatus capable of preventing a determination error of a fuel nature. SOLUTION: In the fuel nature determination apparatus for an internal combustion engine, a torque limit control for limiting an output torque can be performed, after a start-up of the internal combustion engine is completed. The fuel nature determination apparatus determines a fuel nature of the internal combustion engine, based on a parameter corresponding to an output torque after the start-up of the internal combustion engine. The fuel nature determination apparatus changes a threshold for determining the fuel nature, if a torque limit control is not performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a valve timing controller in such a way that an internal combustion engine ensures quiet operation by the optimum valve timing from the start when restarting the engine after an engine of an economy running vehicle or a hybrid vehicle stops temporarily. SOLUTION: A hydraulic source is realized by an electric hydraulic pump or an auxiliary electric hydraulic pump is provided to continue the minimum and required supply of oil pressure for a valve timing controller even during temporary stop of the internal combustion engine so that the valve timing controller is maintained at least in an operation condition immediately before temporary stop of the engine during temporary stop of the internal combustion engine of the economical run vehicle and the hybrid vehicle.
