    摘要: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selectively and efficiently producing 2-adamantanol and 2-adamantanone from 1-adamantanol without using sulfuric acid, within an unconventionally short time, eco-friendly and suppressing byproduct (heavy product) production. SOLUTION: The method for producing 2-adamantanol and 2-adamantanone from 1-adamantanol by using at least one acid catalyst selected from Lewis acid and solid acid and coexistence with at least one compound selected from a group consisting of carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids and phosphoric acids, is characterized by producing 2-adamantanol and 2-adamantanone in the coexistence of adamantane.
