Provided is a viscoelastic article which exerts different properties between one surface and the other surface thereof, which has a transparent appearance, and which less causes staining of objects to which the viscoelastic article is adopted. The viscoelastic article is an article having a multilayer structure including a polymer layer, and a monomer-absorptive layer capable of absorbing at least one of monomer component(s) constituting the polymer, in which the polymer layer is a polymer layer containing an elastomer unevenly distributed and enriched at an interface, or in the vicinity thereof, opposite to the monomer-absorptive layer. The viscoelastic article may further include a cover film on the polymer layer containing the unevenly distributed elastomer on an opposite surface to the monomer-absorptive layer. The vicinity of the interface opposite to the monomer-absorptive layer is preferably a region ranging from the interface opposite to the other interface with the monomer-absorptive layer and occupying, in a thickness direction, 50% or less of the total thickness.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscoelastic member which demonstrates different properties in one surface and the other surface of the member, has a transparent appearance, and is controlled not to contaminate an object. SOLUTION: The viscoelastic member has a laminated structure of a polymer layer and a monomer absorption layer which can absorb at least one monomer constituting the polymer. The polymer layer contains an elastomer distributed unevenly on an interface on the opposite side to the monomer absorption layer or in the vicinity of the interface. In the viscoelastic member, a cover film is allowed to overlie the surface on the opposite side to the monomer absorption layer of the polymer layer with the elastomer distributed unevenly. The vicinity of the interface on the opposite side to the monomer absorption layer is preferably a domain within 50% in relation to the total thickness in the thickness direction from the interface on the opposite side to the monomer absorption layer. Extended lengths of such articles can be wound upon a tubular core for each feed and delivery to a hot-melt adhesive extruder and dispensing apparatus. In a second embodiment of the invention, two or more funicularly shaped elements are encased in an outer plastic resin sheath.

A weather-resisting extruded rubbery article based on carbon black-incorporated EPDM rubber substrate having on the surface thereof a thin layer of a colored rubbery material of a smooth or suede-like appearance integrally formed on the substrate by extrusion molding, characterized in that the colored rubbery material has been derived from 75-0% by weight of EPDM and 25-100% by weight of a graft copolymer of EPDM and vinyl chloride together with one or more coloring fillers. The weather-resisting extruded rubbery article is manufactured by subjecting the carbon black-incorporated EPDM and a colored rubbery compound comprised of EPDM and a graft copolymer of EPDM and vinyl chloride, one or more coloring fillers, a vulcanizing system and, if necessary, a foaming agent to extrusion molding followed by vulcanization with or without simultaneous foaming and, if necessary, the extruded rubbery article thus obtained which has on the surface thereof a thin layer of a colored and foamed rubbery material integrally formed on the substrate is polished with an abrasive to remove the skin of the colored and foamed rubbery material thereby providing the surface of a suede-like appearance, characterized in that the colored rubbery compound contains 75-0% by weight of EPDM and 25-100% by weight of the graft copolymer of EPDM and vinyl chloride. The weather-resisting extruded rubbery articles are useful as parts of motor vehicles exposed under severe conditions and as indoor and outdoor ornaments and buffer materials.

PURPOSE:To obtain a corrosion preventive tape capable of easily preventing the corrosion of the surface of various piping with improved workability and durability, by sticking the first layer prepd. by adding fine Zn powder, MgO and graphite powder to a rubber substrate and the second layer comprising the single layer of synthetic resin or rubber, etc., together. CONSTITUTION:The corrosion preventive tape 1 is constituted by sticking the electric conductive first layer 1a and the waterproof or high-temp. resistant second layer 1b together. Said first layer 1a is made of a composition prepd. by adding 5-350% fine Zn powder, 20-100% MgO and 20-200% graphite powder having specific surface area of 900-1,100m /g, each by wt. ratio, to a rubber substrate. The second layer 1b is formed from the single layer of synthetic resin (e.g. PVC), rubber or the like, or a composite material prepd. by incorporating a fibrous material in said single layer. When high-temp. resistance is applied to the second layer 1b, the second layer 1b is formed from various fibrous materials such as asbestos, SiC, glass, C and B.
