    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamed lubricant usable even at spots subject to external stress such as compression/bending and having been difficult to use solid lubricants, and to provide a method for producing the same.
    SOLUTION: The foamed lubricant is obtained by foaming/curing a mixture comprising a lubricant component, a liquid rubber having intramolecular hydroxy groups, a curing agent and a foaming agent; wherein the mixture contains 1-80 wt.% of the lubricant component and 5-80 wt.% of the liquid rubber based on the whole mixture, and the curing agent is an isocyanate compound, and the foaming agent is water. Specifically, the foamed lubricant is obtained by sealing up the mixture on the circumference of a sliding member followed by foaming/curing the mixture.

The mol. wt. of the graft copolymer may be 5000-10,000. Many thickening agents, other additives and base oil (mineral and synthetic) are listed.
