摘要: A decorative light tile includes a base, a light source adjacent to the perimeter of the base positioned to illuminate at least a slanted light reflecting area of the base, and a cover mounted on the base adapted to be illuminated by light from the light source reflected off the slanted light reflecting area. Additionally, the light tile includes a bus bar system. The bus bar system includes positioned along a perimeter of the light tile. The bus bar system is electrically connected to the light source and provides a circuit for supplying power to the light source. A light tile system includes a plurality of light tiles, a decorative sheet positioned adjacent to each light tile and illuminated by the light source within the light tile, and a power supply. Each light tile includes a bus bar system connected to a light source within the light tile and the light tiles may be positioned contiguous to each other so that the bus bar systems are in electrical contact with each other.

摘要: An LED lamp having a support with a metal substrate and a center portion with projecting wings. An electrically insulating, thermally conductive circuit is affixed to the substrate; and at least one LED is positioned on each wing with electrically conductive traces connected thereto. The center portion is planar. The wings are bent at multiple angles forming legs, a first angle being greater than 90 degrees, a second angle being normal to the planar center portion. The preferred center portion is pentagonal. The bulb cooperates with a socket that comprises a base; a hollow pedestal extending from the base, the pedestal having a polygonal interior; a thermally conductive, core having an exterior matching the interior; a gap between interior walls of the interior and exterior walls; and a plurality of electrical contacts positioned in the gap for contacting the traces when the bulb is inserted in the socket.

摘要: A lamp assembly (10) that comprises a reflector (12) for directing light in a given direction. An aperture (14) is formed in the reflector (12), substantially in the base thereof, and a thermally conductive post (16) is fitted in the aperture (14) and has a first surface (18) within the reflector and a second surface (20) outside of the reflector. The post (16) is preferably a metal such as copper. A single, side emitting, LED light source (22) is fixed to the first surface (18), preferably via an electrically insulating but thermally conductive member (23). A heat sink (24) is fixed to the second surface (20) and preferably is an inherent part thereof to insure good heat conductivity between the post (16) and the heat sink (24). Circuitry (26), which can be mounted on a printed circuit board, is associated with the LED source (22) for supplying power thereto. Suitable electrical connections, not shown, can be supplied from the circuitry (26) to the LED light source (22) via insulated wires running up the side of the post (16) or threaded through longitudinal apertures formed in the post (16). Alternatively, an electrically insulating material supplied with conductive traces can cover the post (16). The LED light source can include a cap having a secondary reflector thereon or the light source (22) can be covered by a dome-shaped, transparent element having sidewalls and a closed top having at least one metallized surface and including an optic.

摘要: An LED wedge-based lamp and method of making the lamp, where the lamp has a generally planar circuit board having one end that has electrical connections exposed thereon and a connecting part that is adapted to mechanically couple the lamp to a wedge-based lamp socket. The lamp includes an LED light engine near a second end of the circuit board, where the light engine includes plural laterally aligned LEDs whose light output mimics the light output of an incandescent lamp, such as used in automobile stop and turn signals. The lamp includes a load resistor, whose load mimics that of the incandescent lamp, on an exterior surface of the connecting part. The connecting part may be a sleeve that slides onto the circuit board. A hand grip/heat sink may be provided at the second end of the circuit board.

摘要: A solid-state light source (10) that is compatible with the existing sockets normally reserved for filamented lamps (100). The solid-state light source (10) comprises a hollow base (12) formed to mechanically and electrically adapt to an existing socket normally reserved for lamps (100). A sub-assembly (14) is adapted to cooperate with and fit into the hollow base (12). The sub-assembly (14) comprises a circuit board (16) with a plurality of solid-state light sources (18) mechanically and electrically connected to one side (20) of the circuit board. Two electrical contacts (22, 24) are positioned on the other side (26) of the circuit board for connection to an electrical circuit. A light pipe (28) covers the plurality of light sources (18) and extends away therefrom to a terminal end (30). A light radiator (34) is affixed to the terminal end (30) and a light-opaque shroud (33) surrounds the light pipe (32) to keep all of the light generated by the solid-state light source within the light pipe (32) to exit out of the light radiator (34).
