Abstract: Hydrocarbon wells and methods for identifying production from a region of a subterranean formation. The hydrocarbon wells include a wellbore extending within the region of the subterranean formation and a production tubular that defines a production conduit and extends at least partially within the wellbore. The hydrocarbon wells also include an electromagnetic transmitter, an electromagnetic receiver, and a controller. The electromagnetic transmitter is configured to provide an input electromagnetic signal to a region of the production conduit to electromagnetically excite a produced tracer material that forms a portion of a produced stream that flows within the production tubular. The electromagnetic receiver is configured to receive an electromagnetic output signal from the region of the production conduit. The controller is programmed to identify the region of the subterranean formation based, at least in part, on the output electromagnetic signal. The methods include methods of operating the hydrocarbon wells.

Abstract: An electro-acoustic system for downhole telemetry is provided herein. The system employs a series of communications nodes spaced along a string of casing within a wellbore. The nodes are placed within the annular region surrounding the joints of casing within the well-bore. The nodes allow for wireless communication between transceivers residing within the communications nodes and a topside communications node at the wellhead. More specifically, the transceivers provide for node-to-node communication up a wellbore at high data transmission rates for data indicative of a parameter within an annular region behind the string of casing. A method of evaluating a parameter within an annular region along a cased-hole wellbore is also provided herein. The method uses a plurality of data transmission nodes situated along the casing string which send signals to a receiver at the surface. The signals are then analyzed.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a method and system for providing VoIP clients with the ability to confirm accuracy in conversation data over a digital communication channel. More specifically, a method and system is provided for verifying, via a visual representation whether a receiving client captures accurate information from a particular portion of the digital voice conversation. In response to a triggering event, a visual representation, including information extracted from the particular portion of the digital voice conversation, may be generated for verifying the accuracy. Based on the needs of the clients engaging in the conversation, one or more visual representations and corresponding verifications can be exchanged. In this manner, a multi-tiered oral agreement with authentication may be generated over a digital communication channel.

Abstract: A method and system for collecting and communicating contextual information relating to a VoIP conversation is provided. Structured hierarchies are utilized for efficient communications of various amounts and types of contextual information relating to a VoIP conversation. Information identifying at least one structured hierarchy, which will be used to carry the contextual information, is transmitted during establishment of a conversation between two VoIP enhanced devices. The structured hierarchy is selected from a set of predefined and declared structured hierarchies. Subsequently transmitted contextual information exchanged between two VoIP enhanced devices is represented in accordance with the identified structural hierarchy. VoIP clients, network infrastructure, and various service providers can collect the contextual information based on the identified structured hierarchy, update the contextual information by adding, deleting and/or modifying the contextual data. The updated contextual information will be transmitted to other clients, network infrastructure, and service providers.

Abstract: The guide tube is mounted on a fixture with the split-pins of each old split-pin assembly straddling a knife edge. The nut of each old split-pin assembly is engaged by a socket of a wrench and a high torque is impressed on the nut. The torque is of sufficient magnitude to shear the weld by which the nut is joined to the split-pin and/or to shear the pin particularly at the edge of a keyway where a button to which the weld is joined is engaged. The knife edge which each split-pin straddles prevents the pin from turning under the torque applied to the nut. After the weld or the pin is sheared the nut or the nut and the pin fragment joined to it is unthreaded from the pin or pin fragment and the separated parts are disposed of. Typically the nut of an old split-pin assembly has diametrically cut slots in its wall. The socket of the wrench is provided with projections which engage the nut in the slots. The torque is applied to the nut through these projections.
