摘要: A method and apparatus for re-interpreting channel state information are provided, which relate generally to wireless communications, and more specifically are directed toward the use of channel state information/channel quality indications in a wireless network. The apparatus includes at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code are configured, with the at least one processor, to cause the apparatus to perform at least the following: receive from a user equipment correspondence information that relates channel states of a first set to channel states of a second set (302); receive from the user equipment an indication of at least one channel state of the first set which was measured on a downlink (304); use the received indication of at least one channel state of the first set and the received correspondence information to determine a channel state from the second set (306); and adapt a transmission on a downlink channel for the user equipment using the determined channel state (308).

摘要: There is proposed a mechanism by means of which information can be generated and used for estimating and identifying at each base transceiver station of a communication network the set of other base transceiver stations generating interference on certain monitored component carriers used by the base transceiver station, i.e. information for the generation of the incoming uplink background interference matrix. For this purpose, a specific communication information set, referred to as uplink radio load map, is determined which informs about an average (time/frequency) and aggregated (over all or group of served UEs) uplink load measure per component carrier. Based on the uplink radio load map received via suitable signaling from other base transceiver stations, each base transceiver station can determine the incoming uplink background interference matrix and initiate, if necessary, suitable measures for reducing interference per component carrier.

摘要: The invention relates generally to mobile communication networks. More particularly, the invention relates to interference management and carrier selection for transmitting data. There is provided a solution for improved selection of a cell-specific base carrier, the solution utilizing a timing framework for the carrier selection. The solution includes determining a maximum allowed time duration, and performing within the determined maximum allowed time duration: obtaining information related to one or more selected carriers from at least one neighboring base station, selecting the at least one cell-specific base carrier for data transmission on the basis of the obtained information, and informing the at least one neighboring base station of the selected cell specific base carrier.

摘要: According to several embodiments of the present invention, an apparatus (e.g., a UE) monitors a set of component carriers by referring to sub-bands having a sub-band size. The channel quality of the component carriers is detected, best component carriers are identified based on the channel quality, the number of the best component carriers is identified, and the subband size is varied based the identified number of the best component carriers. Identification information and channel quality information on the best component carriers may then be provided, for example to a network control element such as an eNode-B.
