    Abstract: The present invention provides a weight-adjustable dumbbell component. The weight-adjustable dumbbell component includes a dumbbell base, dumbbell plates, and a dumbbell bar assembly; two ends of the dumbbell base are provided with abutting bumps fitted with inserting holes, limiting mechanisms are unlocked when the abutting bumps extend into the inserting holes, the limiting mechanisms are locked when the abutting bumps are separated from the inserting holes, and the limiting mechanisms are used for limiting relative rotation of a rotating shaft. The dumbbell plates are prevented from loosening during use, parts for unlocking the limiting mechanisms are arranged on the dumbbell base, thus the danger that the limiting mechanisms are unlocked due to improper use is effectively avoided.

    Abstract: A system and methods are provided for removal of undesired portions of a fruit or vegetable, such as removal of calyxes from strawberries before they are flash frozen. An automated process for high-throughput fruit or vegetable calyx removal includes a loading system, an identification system, and a removal system. The loading system is configured to transport the fruit or vegetable through the automated process. The loading system may also orient the fruits or vegetables along an axis of the fruit and or align the fruit or vegetables in a desired pattern, orientation, and/or arrangement. The identification system is configured to locate the calyx and determines calyx position data and an optimal cutting path for individual fruit. The removal system uses data received from the identification system to separate the calyx from the fruit or vegetable.

    Abstract: The invention proposes a device (1) and a corresponding method, wherein the device (1) comprises: a first element (10) to be attached to a breast of a breastfeeding mother; and a first marker (11) located on the outer surface (100) of the first element (10), wherein the first marker (11) is used for indicating a position of a mother's breast that the baby's lip is expected to contact in order to correctly hold the mother's breast. With the device (1) attached to the mother's breast, the first marker (11) indicates a position that the baby's lip is expected to contact, and the breastfeeding mother can have a clear view of whether the baby correctly holds the mother's breast according to the distance between the first marker (11) and the baby's lip.

    Abstract: A method for producing an optical fiber is provided. The method includes the steps of drawing an optical fiber from a heated glass source in a furnace and introducing index perturbations to the optical fiber via a plurality of perturbation sources arranged at a plurality of different azimuthal locations. The index perturbations are introduced synchronously at different locations along the axial length of the fiber by the plurality of perturbation sources in a generally helical pattern on the outside surface of the fiber in one embodiment. According to another embodiment, the index perturbations are introduced by the plurality of perturbation sources at different frequencies.
